Better is the patient man than the warrior, it is better to control his spirit than to conquer a city.
Proverbs 16.32
The Proverbs of Solomon are great sources of wisdom, because his personal experience favored him. He led Israel in its most glorious period, not through war, but through peace. His father had conquered lands and built an empire for Israel to rule. Solomon inherited all this, but he used peace for the growth of the nation. Through commercial treaties and tax collection, he gave the nation of Israel its period of greatest wealth, and all that was superior to his father's military conquests.
Solomon had experience and reason in saying that "the patient man is better than the warrior". Wars have always had their place in history, but only people of peace and controlled conquered major advances in all fields of life.
We can emphasize that we do not live in times of wars and imperial conquests, but the lesson of the passage is even greater: "It is better to control your spirit than to conquer a city". In other words it is easier to conquer a country than to control our desires and impulses.
Self-control is something we must ask of God. The motivation to dominate is that the uncontrolled person ends up being controlled by God, and that is not always painless.
Every process of personal evolution is part of the step by step towards the will of God. It is important to evaluate the car, take time for yourself and if it is possible to write somewhere what needs to be changed in the short and long term. All this process of recognition is also part of the love to walk towards others through Jesus Christ (Matthew 22). : 39). How can we show love to our neighbor if we do not dominate or control our wills?
The walk of personal evolution is complicated at certain times, but when we understand our being and that we are dependent on the love of Christ in that process, we are taking important steps to master our wills and destructive impulses.
"My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone must be ready to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger, because the wrath of man does not work the justice of God" (James 1:19, 20)

The self-control that Peter describes, leads us to the fear of God, to a life before the face of God. In the old covenant, we had already been given wise counsel regarding a life of trust in God. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own prudence ... Do not be wise in your own opinion; Fear the Lord, and depart from evil ... "Proverbs 3: 5-7.

Sometimes we satisfy more the carnal desires that the spiritual ones, forgetting that the own domination is the key to be with our celestial father when the judgment arrives.
That is going to be my challenge today, to reinforce my own domain
