Churches have waxed colder towards evangelism today, compared to the old days
Hello steemians, It is another beautiful and blessed week I hope you all had fun during the weekend? I wish you all the best in this new week. Today I will be writing on a topic that involves each and every one of us as far as we are Christians the topic today which talks about how churches are no longer strong and fervent in evangelism is meant for us all. Before going into the study of today I will like to briefly explain what evangelism is, for the sake of those that do not know.
Evangelism in a layman's words is the commitment or the act of publicly preaching and spreading the Gospel of the lord.
One of the thing Jesus Christ came to do on earth was to spread the gospel and he achieved this at all cost, because Jesus Christ did not just sit at a spot he went around with his disciples preaching the gospel and it was recorded that so many converts grabbed the word. In the book of Matthew 4:23 it says
Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, preaching, teaching and spreading the gospel in their synagogues and he was healing every kind of sickness and diseases.
Churches today
When Jesus was leaving he gave this was on of the things he told his disciples to do, that is to spread the word all over and now in our churches today nobody wants to go out anymore and preach the gospel they feel that the word has reached every part of the earth which is not true, I could recall that when Peter preached in the old days sometimes it was recorded that thousands give their life to christ just in a day and then today churches are finding it difficult to set a day aside to just go out and preach the word. A quick reminder of who is the church, we are the church we make up the church. The buildings you see are just mere structures but the church lies in our hearts and so we Christians should now wait until our pastors command us to go out, we can start little by preaching to our neighbors. I understand that most people are avoiding some part of the country recently because of the current killings by some sect, remember so many martyr that died for the sake of Christ, we can start little on our environment. Let is revive the evangelism unit, remember that God is always happy for any soul that is won unto him so just imagine what your reward will be if you bring in a new soul to christ.
Bible scriptures about evangelism
In Mark 1:38
Our lord Jesus Christ said to his disciples, "Let us go somewhere else to the towns around us, so that I may preach there also; for that is what he came to the world to do"
Again in Luke 4:43
He said to his disciples, "I must preach the word of God to the other towns and cities also, for I came for this purpose"
In conclusion
Christians today should endeavor to put the things of God first, and evangelism is not left out it is very important for the Christian race. And remember we shall all account honor every soul we bring in and every soul we destroyed.
Thanks for reading
Very important topic.
Mathew 24: 14 says we should declare the good news found in the scriptures before the end will come.
I tend to disagree with this,
I still see some Christians declaring this good news. I try to engage in the ministry myself. Thanks for the well thought out article.God teaches us the gospel through his Word; we can't just "figure it out" on our own. So it stands to reason that we must speak and teach the gospel to others: the truth about who God is, why we're in the mess we're in, what Jesus came to do, and how we are to respond to him. It’s no wonder that Paul often described his evangelistic ministry as a teaching ministry.
Evangelism is an assignment God has given us. When a teacher gives assignments to his students, they try their best to do it. God is both our teacher and heavenly father. We want to be different from others out there and engage in evangelism. Thanks for this fantastic writeup.

I support you on this.. We should all engage ourselves in the work of evangelism...
I was praying with Psalms 69:9a which says "For the zeal of the house of the lord has eaten me up". If there is anything that is anything that pleases God, it's the return of lost souls. Thanks for this buster to go out into the harvest field and win souls for Christ."he that winneth a Soul is wise".
Well, there are so many things that have changed in our modern world, as opposed to the early church. We must try to do things in line with the word of God always, as this is our ultimate guide.

evangelism is an act of spreading God's would, it can be of any form, it can even be in form of charity works... it is a neccessity for all faithfuls to spread the gospel because it is what God wants from us.
The church todsy prefers to sit atvone place and let the people come it into it ,we prefer building more church than saving more souls ,the christians also prefers prosperity sermon than salvational sermon indeed the church had grown much colder.
