Priorities of our Lord Jesus Christ

Greetings friends and brothers.

Based on the Gospels, we observed 7 priorities that guided the actions of Jesus:

He searched for the Father
He demonstrated intimacy with God who seeks him continuously. In the Gospels there are 45 references that relate that Jesus isolated himself to pray. Jesus worked all day but still took time to have fellowship with the Father and to focus on His goal. He could sleep or work less, but he always had time to pray.

He embraced the rejected
Jesus demonstrated God's love for the acceptance of the despised of society. He called a tax collector to be one of his disciples (Matthew, or Levi). In Luke 5 we can see examples of this.

He restored broken lives
Jesus took care of the physical and financial needs of the people, cast out demons, healed the lame, raised the dead sins, and forgave. Jesus proved that the love of God is sufficient to attend to any need.

He faced hypocrisy
Jesus demonstrated the heart of God for the placement against the lifeless religion. He openly confronted religious hypocrisy. Jesus repeatedly rebuked the religious who buried the true essence of God in their human traditions. What would Jesus do? He would pronounce against people who act in the name of God to hurt others. And he will speak against those who take advantage of the oppressed, but they say that their God is full of compassion. (Matthew 23: 13-39, Luke 19:45 and 46)

He taught the Word of God
Jesus took every opportunity to teach, either before the crowd, or before his small group of disciples. He was always helping people discover their Father. He lived and spoke the truth, the perfect expression of God's character.

"The Word has become a human being and has lived among us, full of love and truth, and we have seen the revelation of his divine nature, nature that He received as the only Son of the Father." John 1:14

Many do not consider themselves teachers of the Word. If we do not occupy the pulpit on Sundays or we do not lead a study during the week, we are tempted to think that this aspect of Jesus' life does not apply to us. But this compression is very limited. Jesus taught in private conversations, as with Nicodemus, or when he preached to thousands of people.

Teaching requires only being filled with the Word of God that naturally overflows from our life to the life of our neighbor.

Served
The service marked the life of Jesus from beginning to end. He served with sacrifice, putting the needs of others above His own. His life of service culminated in the cross.

Sometimes I'm so busy with work for God that I do not have time for people! But the work of God is the people.

He wants me to cry with someone who lost a loved one; to visit a sick person in the hospital. He wants me to help you who had the car in a vacuum to push him. He wants me to call a friend in crisis at midnight, advising him.

Serving people is serving God!

He formed leaders
Finally, Jesus demonstrated the character of God to train leaders to continue his mission and transform the world after his departure. It did not prevent the daily pressures of the ministry from preventing him from identifying and investing in the leaders of tomorrow. Just as He chose and trained His disciples. (Matthew 10)

We identify that area, as the ministry of discipleship. It is not enough to take someone to Jesus, we must accompany that person in their steps, we show in the light of the Word what is right and what is wrong. And be an example of life!
