Trust God's Plan in All Circumstances
Sometimes I wonder if God had answered all my prayers when I was young, would I be where I am right now? Would I still have met my husband along the way? Would my life be any different?
The Bible says in Psalm 84:11 (New International Version):
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.
Same Scripture but using another translation (New Living Translation Bible):
For the Lord God is our sun and our shield.
He gives us grace and glory.
The Lord will withhold no good thing
from those who do what is right.
Sometimes when we pray to God for a particular thing, we believe that it is good for us. For example, I have been praying that my husband and I will finally have a baby of our own, because I believe that it will be good for both of us, that it will strengthen our relationship even more. However, every month that it doesn't happen, it makes me sad and disappointed because it seems like my prayers are "not working." Although I still have many years left to be able to conceive, it's just that I am getting impatient at times. But I am still keeping my faith, and I will not give up on praying. I just have to continue trusting God. I know that God, who has a plan for my life, knows what would be good and what wouldn't be good for me.
When we trust God and follow His plan, it can be compared to driving down a foggy road. The fog hides what is ahead, and you can only see the headlights in front of you. But as you drive along that road, through the fog, you eventually get within the sight of your goal. More of this sight is revealed until it comes sharply into focus.
I know that I can sometimes get anxious in the fog and drive slowly or cautiously, or decide to just pull over and wait for it to clear. But then I know, I am meant to "walk by faith."
Walking by faith means trusting the plan God has already designed and worked out for me, and He will reveal to me when it is His perfect time.
Paul said in Philippians 4:11:
"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content."
Clearly, Paul did not experience contentment from his surroundings because he spent many years of his ministry in prison. He wrote some of his epistles whilst in prison. So, where did Paul's contentment come from? It's from knowing that God makes everything work out according to His plan (Ephesians 1:11). It doesn't mean though that Paul understood every detail of God's plan for his life. When he didn't understand the plan, he trusted the Planner! He trusted God! And that's where Paul's peace, joy and contentment came from.
I know that the same is true for me, if I trust Him with all my heart. I have to trust God's plan in every circumstance or whatever state I am in.
How about you? Where do you struggle in trusting God? Please comment below and share your own experience. I would love to know what helps you trust in God or what helps you put your faith back in Him.

Thanks. This is a good reminder for me as well. Sometimes I need to weigh it up whether what I want is what I need and then I have to be specific in my prayers.

Definitely if you trust God from all your heart you won’t be hopeless but remember trust God in very situations bad or good. And always be thankful to him. Superb post @evlachsblog. I really hope you conceive soon! Take care and stay blessed!
Thank you. I will not give up on praying. Sometimes I look at the young children at school under my care and I am able to exercise or practice my nurturing care to them and I feel like I am a mother to them. Maybe that's my purpose. God had placed me in this position to be able to create an impact on the lives of not just one child but many children.
Thank you for your message. I do hope I will conceive while I am still young.
Ate, Im glad to know you're keeping your faith up in God even if sometimes we don't understand His plans will be. Continue to trust in Him and everything will fall into place in God's perfect time. Am always praying for you, Ate. I love you!
Thank you and amen to that. I am not hopeless because my hope is in Jesus. Everything will work out according to what God has already planned for me. I love you, too. Xx
You're making me in tears now with your post. If only you could see and feel what's in my heart.
