STEEMCHURCH-GOD'S PROMISES FOR BELIEVERS

God created the earth with its fullness and gave them to man as an inheritance (Gen. 1:28 ). The fall of man due to sin made him loose the right to that beautiful place and plan of God. Being a just and compassionate God, he gave his only begotten son for the sins of man, that who so ever believe in him should not perish but have an eternal life (John 3:16 ). This is the foundation of God's love and promises for believers. Following this, God also assured the believers that he will never live us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5 ). This stands sure for any believer anytime, anywhere and any day (Number 23:19 ).

These promises are general and God expects every believer to appropriate them by the exercise of faith. Faith is the vehicle that will convey the proposal of the promise to tangible reality (Heb. 11:1-6 ).

Though we are in an era when things look rather from, as in the days of prophet Habakkuk, we can equally resolve oy4 complaints and fears on confidence and faith. Therefore lest look into him who is faithful to fulfill that which he has promised. Indeed the just shall live by faith( Hab. 2:4 ).

WHAT IS A PROMISE AND WHY DID GOD MAKE PROMISES TO BELIRVERS??

A promise is a declaration assuring that one will or will not get something; a vow. It is an undertaking or a pledge that could form the basis of future excellence or success. This affords a basis for expectation, an accepted goal, mark or target. Man makes a promise and aims at keeping it as much as is humanly possible but any promise made by God is as good as kept.
Consequently while any promise made by man is subject to his human limitations, a promise by God is settled, provided man can meet with the conditions he has set.
God has made many promises to the believers. Prominent amongst these is his assurance to the believer not to ever leave him or abandon him ( Heb. 13:5 ).

DOES THE PROMISES OF GOD YIELD RESULTS ??

The guarantee and assurance that when believed God's promises will manifest positively is in his word, as recorded in the bible. For God has magnified his word above all his name ( Ps. 138:2 ). If he has it, he will do it because he words can not return to him void ( Isaiah 55:10-11 ).
Moreover, there is no known instance of failure by God to fulfill any of his promises. God had not changed ( Heb. 13:8 ). He faithfully fulfilled his promise to Adam ( Gen. 3:15 ); to Noah ( Gen. 8:21 ); to Abraham ( Gen 12:7 ) e.t.c.

Man only need to have faith, obey and be patient. For though it may tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come (Hab. 2:3 ). In its due season, at God's appointed time, it will certainly come to pass. Delay is not denial. "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose". Be rest assured that the God that has always kept his promise cannot begin to fail with you.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE PROMISES OF GOD FOR THE BELIEVERS??

whereas God has made a lot of promises to the believers, he had only one obligation to the unbeliever. While a believer has at least one promise of God covering him under any situation the only promise God had made to the unbeliever is that of the Salvation of his soul; if he accepts Jesus Christ as his lord and personal saviour. It is the only way that man can overcome his sinful Adamic nature and fit into God's original plan for him.

Here are some of the numerous promises God has made to the believers.

1. The presence of the Holy Spirit ( Joel 2: 28-32; Acts 1:8; Matt. 28:18 )

2. Provision of needs ( Matt. 7:7-11; Phil. 4:19 )

3. Assurance of good health ( Exodus 15:.26; Psalms 103:3; 3John 2)

4. Protection ( Isaiah 54:17; Psalms 91;121; Mark 16:18 )

5. Future ( Jeremiah 29:11; Matt. 6:25-34; Psalms 37:1-5 )

These are few of the promises of the heritage of the believers in Christ Jesus.
The Lord will guard and guide the believers every step of the way into eternity.

HINDRANCES OF HAVING GODS PROMISES

The primary source of hindrances of having God's promises fulfilled is the devil and it's agents, who came to steal, kill and to destroy ( John 10:10 ). Oddly enough one of the most agents of the Satan is the "flesh" ( Gal. 5:16-21 ) of the believers.

Also, ignorance and sin is a factor that prevents believers from receiving from God ( Hosea 4:6 ). One must know what one wants and ask right.

So as believers we should learn to have faith and trust in God that his promises will be made fuflfied in our lives. No matter when, how or where, we should always know that God is too faithful to fail and his word never goes back to him void and without accomplishing the purpose for which it was sent.
