DailyCelestialChallenge-Saturday-Agriculture
God bless my people from steemit and @steemchurch, today #celestialchallenge dresses in "Saturday-Agriculture" proposal from @sirknight.
Delicious theme
The strawberry, whose scientific name is Fragaria vesca, F. viridis or F. moschata, is a triangular fruit, red in color, formed by small dots, which we all know well for its intense perfume and delicious taste.
Actually the strawberry is defined as a fruit improperly, because the real fruit is composed of small points that surround the same strawberry and that are mistakenly called seeds.
The origins of the strawberry are not well defined: some sources consider it of European origin, particularly in the Alpine area, while others consider it of Chilean origin, from which a French officer, at the beginning of the Seventh, imported to Europe the mother plants used as a basis for the constitution of the hybrid Fragaria x ananassa, to which all the varieties of strawberries currently disseminated belong.
Because it is a hybrid plant, its reproduction by seed can be complicated. For this reason it is recommended that its spread be through stolons and crowns; this method allows a rapid and safe vegetative development.
Although the strawberry can live for a long time, it is recommended to exploit it only during the first two years of life, because at higher age its susceptibility to pests increases and its production decreases.
Benefits of strawberries:
-It is ideal to decrease the level of cholesterol in the blood.
Eat more vitamin C than many citrus fruits. This vitamin protects the body by strengthening the immune system. Their organic acids have disinfectant and anti-inflammatory effects.
This fruit is an important aid in weight loss diets, since 85% of its composition is water.
They also contain vitamin A, vitamin E, and smaller amounts of other vitamins such as B1, B2, B3 and B6.
-The strawberry provides us with potassium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, iodine and calcium.
- The roots, and especially the leaves, are the source of a multitude of natural anti-inflammatory substances, hence their antirheumatic effect.
-The strawberry is used a lot in remedies to treat acne.
-It also helps those people who have kidney stones, hypertension and uric acid.
-The dietary fiber that strawberries possess, lowers the level of cholesterol in the blood and helps maintain a healthy digestive system by reducing the risk of acquiring heart disease or colon cancer. It has been shown that people who eat higher amounts of fiber have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and hypertension.
- Potassium is an important nutrient that balances electrolytes, relieves muscle contractions and maintains a healthy blood pressure. Eight medium strawberries provide 210 milligrams of potassium.
Strawberries, a versatile fruit, can be used raw or cooked, frozen or fresh. Popular in the United States, strawberries are grown in every state and consumed in 94 percent of households. Strawberries, known to be low in calories, are an excellent source of vitamin C and dietary fiber.
- Sauces and Syrups
Strawberries can be combined with sugar and reduced to fire to make the syrup. Syrup adds strawberry flavor to desserts, such as cakes, pies and ice cream. Strawberry syrup can be served with breakfast products such as pancakes and waffles. Chefs use strawberry sauce to add color to gourmet dessert dishes.
- Pastry products
Crushed strawberries make the family strawberries cake, cooked strawberries and canned strawberries can be used as filling for cakes, such as muffins and donuts, raw strawberries can be cut to fill the pies. The fruit can be added to cakes and muffins, along with strawberry extract, flavor of baked goods.
- Jams and jellies
One of the best ways to preserve fresh strawberries is to make jam and jelly. Strawberry jam and gelatin are made by macerating and cooking the fruit with sugar and lemon juice. The cooked mixture is poured into sterile vials and processed into boiling water. Strawberry jam can be eaten in the traditional way, as a stuffed bread and used as an ingredient in other dishes.
God bless you.
