STEEMCHURCH: THE OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy has made us be born again for a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, for an incorruptible, uncontaminable and unfathomable heritage, reserved in the heavens for you "(1 Peter 1: 3, 4).
Friend, there is a treasure reserved in glory for you that lawyers can not take, inflation can not touch, nor the rodent tooth of time, nor decomposition can destroy. It is there. That is his inheritance. Verse 5 says: "that you are kept by the power of God ...".
You are saved by the power of God. It's not because you cling; It's because he supports you. People say: "Just pray that I stay faithful until the end."
Well, we should pray for each other to be faithful Christians, but it is not about sustaining ourselves, it is he who sustains us. Jesus said, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand." My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of the Father's hands "(John 10). : 28, 29). Can you imagine a power so strong that it can snatch you from the hands of God?
Some people say: "I think the devil can turn us away from God." Ah, do you believe that? Do you think the devil can take you away from God? Well, then, if he could, why does not he have it? to you? Think about it.
Has not the devil been good to you? He has the power, but he just has not done it. Now, that's a strange doctrine, right? Go to heaven for the goodness of the devil. No no no! You go to heaven by the grace of God, and the only reason the devil has not snatched it from the hands of God is simply because you can not.
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand [no one can do it]" (John 10: 27,28).
The power of God keeps us. Never believe that by being eternally secure, it does not matter how you live. God will correct that theory in an instant by disciplining it. "For the Lord disciplines him who loves ..." (Hebrews 12: 6). It is foolish to assume that this is a license to sin.
I sin everything I want Some people say: "Yes, I believe in eternal security, I can simply be saved and sin everything I want". I sin more than I want. I do not want to sin. Nothing would please me more than knowing that I would not do it again. One of these days, when God has finished with me, I will not sin again, when he has glorified me.
And if you still want to sin, then you need to settle your accounts with the Lord. He needs to be born again. "... if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, they are all made new (2 Corinthians 5:17)." There are reasons drawn directly from the Bible so that you can know that you are eternally secure.
Remember that being saved is great. But it is even better to be saved and to know that it is, and it is still more wonderful to know that you are saved, to be sure that you are and to know that you will never lose your salvation.
Isaiah 43:13
Even from eternity, I am, and there is no one free from my hand; I act, and who will revoke it?
