Honesty
Greetings to the ever growing @steemchurch and its parishioners and apostles. Appreciation to the most noble knight I know @sirknight, the founder of the @steemchurch. The things I learn everyday from posts on the @steemchurch are invaluable and very much helpful to me. Today I want to give back the little I know on honesty.
Honesty is a matter of great importance and concern especially in the lives of Christians. Honesty simply put is being honest. And according to the dictionary, to be honest is;
1:free of deceit; truthful and sincere
2:morally correct or virtuous.
Every relationship is built on trust, and this trust is gained by series of acts towards a person overtime. Mind you, it is easy to gain the trust of a person or for you to trust a person but the acts that inspire this trust can be true or false based on if a party decides to be honest or not. This is where honesty comes in. Relationships built on honesty from both parties are stronger and tend to last longer because the people involved have decided to accept each other's characters and habits even though they are not totally good, this way there is trust. On the other hand, a relationship built on dishonesty in any form would end up hurting one or all parties involved when the truth comes out. And I tell you the longer the truth is hidden, the more painful it will be when the truth is out.
As Christians, honesty should be what we build our lives on. That means we must first be honest with ourselves so that we can easily be honest to other persons. Hosnesty helps a man build a good reputation in both the sight of God and the eyes of men. Honesty an integrity work hand in hand. For you to have a high integrity, you have to be a honest person. Integrity is built with honesty and also maintained by honesty.
In the world today, being honest is a hard thing to do, but we christians have the word of God and the holy spirit in us to help us achieve it. But it still depends on you because there is always choice to make in situations that has options. Being honest all the time maybe stressful and even instigate criticism from others, but it is worth it.
You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

Honesty is one thing most of us lack today, we are not always being truthful about something just because of what we will gain or earn. Remember that we are to run the heavenly race and not the earthly race, what we all see today we won't see them tomorrow.
Honesty should be our foundation for integrity. Our lives should be built on the virtue of honesty despite the challenge and difficulty in being honest in this morally declining world.
Honesty comes with great rewards from God even though you face challenges of being called a coward or fool, keep your faith and what you stand for.
Honesty is a very rare virtue that should be a character of a true Christian becausejesus himself was a symbol of honesty and humility,honesty has a way of lifting burden from us and have a great reward than expected.

A man who is honest is always going to reverse favor from God and he knows our heart. If only we could do it more and don't give the devil a chance to overshadow our sincere heart.
Honesty shows our integrity and when people know you for this, they tend to place trust on you, so it is a good character we should emulate.
Being honest means choosing not to lie, steal, cheat, or deceive in any way. When we are honest, we build strength of character that will allow us to be of great service to God and to others. We are blessed with peace of mind and self-respect and will be trusted by the Lord and others.
