Friendship that grows deeper creates greater commitment and this in turn brings abundant blessings.

Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man from Bethlehemjudah went to live in the country of Moab, he and his wife and his two sons. 2 The man's name was Elimelech, and his wife's name was Naomi; and the names of his sons were Mahlon and Chilion, Ephraimites of Bethlehemjudah. So they came to the country of Moab and stayed there.
3 Then Elimelech, Naomi's husband, died, and Naomi was left with her two sons. 4 They took Moabite wives; the name of the one was Orpah and the name of the other Ruth; and they lived there about ten years. 5 Then Mahlon and Chilion both died, and the woman was left without her two sons and her husband.
Then Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to turn back from you; for wherever you go I will go, and wherever you lodge I will lodge. Your people will be my people, and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord do so to me, and more also, if only death separates us two.” 18 When Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more.
19 So the two of them went on until they came to Bethlehem. When they had entered Bethlehem, the whole city was troubled because of them, and said, “Is this not Naomi?” 20 And she said to them, Do not call me Naomi, but call me Mara; for the Almighty has dealt me very bitterly. 21 I went away full, but the LORD has brought me back empty-handed. Why do you call me Naomi, since the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?
22 So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess her daughter-in-law with her; they returned from the country of Moab, and they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of the barley harvest.

RUTH 1:1-4, 16-22

When we talk about walking by faith, we are not talking about walking free of responsibilities or without worrying about anything, the word of God instructs us in absolutely everything, how to walk and how to treat people, as well as how we should nurture relationships with other people.
We also know those people who prefer not to establish deep friendships with people, remaining only as acquaintances of the people without deepening a friendship. They generate conversations of interest, share some interests but do not go beyond that, do not generate a deep bond. This implies that they do not take responsibility for bearing the burdens, sharing the weight of the person's sorrows, but they also lose the privilege of expressing love and loyalty to those people. Let us remember that we have been created to have communion with people as well as with God, we must develop a connection based on love and trust.
In the biblical picture presented we see Ruth as a great example of friendship and loyalty, totally selfless dedication, we read that when her mother-in-law lived one of the worst moments of her life with the loss of her children, she was overcome with hopelessness and Ruth chose to turn blue and not leave her, even when her mother-in-law asked her to leave her. Staying with her mother-in-law meant giving up many aspects of her youth, comforts and even being able to meet someone in order to get married and rebuild her life.
This is an example of loyalty, this demands something from us and not everyone is willing to assume and carry out this responsibility, as we have said before there are people who keep a prudent distance to avoid getting involved with other people as well as wishing not to be inconvenienced. But God fervently desires that we as children of God stay united, that we connect with the person and that we make use of the love of God to make others loyal, this not only benefits us in this life, it brings us blessings that we cannot imagine, let us also remember in this aspect the life of Ruth who has received much more than she expected even when she had previously given up what she would have wanted.

34 A new commandment I give to you: that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
