Just as the word specifies, God is slow to anger and gives us all the time in the world to repent, even to our nonexistence from this world, but still loves us too much to leave us a whole life living in sin.

I thank him who strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful, putting me into the ministry, 13 although I was previously a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it through ignorance, in unbelief. 14 But the grace of our Lord was abundant with faith and love that is in Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. 16 But for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.

1 Timothy 1:12-16

Christian life is compared in the Bible to the life of a child when he is born. When one receives Jesus in his heart he is born again and is like a newborn baby. Little by little he must grow and learn obedience and many other things. Learn to walk in the ways of God. God himself is pleased and rejoices in seeing us walk in his ways in righteousness. When we make mistakes, he is pleased to help us. That is why he is always attentive to each of our steps and guides us with patience, giving us time allowing us to make mistakes to straighten our steps.

The heart of man plans his way;
But the Lord directs his steps

Proverbs 16:9

But not only was she appreciated, she was aware of God's great patience and not only did she show it with words, she showed it with actions. She teaches us that God is slow to anger and that each of us human beings have an opportunity to be saved from sin.

But for this reason I received mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all his longsuffering, as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.

1 Timothy 1:16

Paul teaches us that the grace of God and his mercy lead us to repentance, as he also teaches us that that heart hardened against God's plans will have to appear, they will be judged by their actions.
We have many examples in the word of God and one of them is the people of Israel when they experienced this truth, the nation of Israel moved away from God and did evil in the eyes of God by worshiping and paying homage to pagan gods. God somehow left their ways free and when they could no longer cry out to God, they returned to him and God received them again and again. God will not be intrusive, God allows calamity to touch his children and even in those worst moments for human beings, God is ready and attentive with his grace and mercy to embrace and cover all those who cry out to him. If there is a situation or simply our gaze is off target, we must confess to God, ask for forgiveness and above all ask for help since he is ready to help us and keep us from evil, later we will simply thank him for his grace and mercy, for freeing us from that which traps us.
