Be watchful, Watch out, For the Day and Hour of the Messiah’s Return is Unknown

“No one knows when that day or hour will come—not the angels in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father. Be careful! Watch out! Because you don’t know when the time will come. Mark 13:32-33

The return of the Messiah will surely take many by surprise. Christ will come at the time when people will least expect. He will come unannounced, like a thief breaking in to someone's property to steal.

According the very words of Jesus no one else knows the exact time the Messiah has to come for the second time. Jesus himself doesn't know, not even the angels except the father .
It is like when a master begins a journey. Before he leaves his house, he gives authority to his servants.

He tells each servant about the work that he should do. Then he tells the servant at the door to be ready for his master’s return.

In the next four verses that follows the Scripture above, Jesus compared his coming to a master who journeys to a place and gave charge to his servants to his household. He told everyone what to do before leaving but never told them when he will return and so warned them to keep watch

*It is like when a master begins a journey. Before he leaves his house, he gives authority to his servants. He tells each servant about the work that he should do. Then he tells the servant at the door to be ready for his master’s return. And you do not know when the master of the house will return. So keep yourselves ready and watch carefully. He might arrive in the evening, or in the middle of the night. Or he might arrive early in the morning, or just before the sun rises. He may surprise you and he may find you asleep. I am saying this to you. And I am also saying this to everyone else. Keep yourselves ready!’ Mark 13:34-37

This is the time we all need to be careful and mindful of how we live our lives as Christians. The sad thing that could happen to us is when the master returns and find us sleeping at the time we are suppose to be awake.

It is surprising how the devil has made many to believe that Jesus will not come since it has taken so many years after the Gospel was first preached about him coming soon. He has actually made people to believe his coming as a a fallacy, a deception that no one should accept to be true.

Gradually many believers of Christ are turning to accept this falsehood. Let us not be deceived for the hour of his coming no one knows. A thousand years is like a day to God, which means that God can actually make something we have thought about it to take years before it happen to happen in just a day.

There is one thing we are told to do in order not to be taken by surprise by his coming and that is to be watchful and pray. To be watchful means to to be sleepless, keep awake, watch, attentive or ready for If a watchman knows the exact time when thieves will break in to his property he would actually stay all night and keep a close watch.

We watch by being prayerful and sticking to the word to God. They are what keep us in check and make us become vigilant about the wiles of the enemey that could easily lure us and put to sleep and shift us from the from the grace.

If you have been waek in your prayer life this is the right moment to revive yourself again, if you hardly find time for God's word this is the right time to stick to the word, if attending to other spiritual exercise have been so difficult for you to do this is the right time or moment you need to revitalize and start again.

We don't have all the time and the days we are in are evil, there will be no time or chance for repentance or to make thing right if the master comes, now is the time let's be watchful and pray.
