HAVE A PASSION FOR SERVICE

SCRIPTURAL TEXT
(Luke 22:27)
”For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at meat? But I am among you as he that serveth.’’

In our scriptural text today, Jesus Christ our perfect example and the greatest record breaker that ever lived shows us that one who must be the greatest and desires to be chief or leader must first serve.

Great people are those who have a great passion to serve others. They do not just sit and wait to be served neither do they feel they are too big to serve others. They are not proud or self-centered. History is replete with stories of great people who served their way into success. They possess the spirit of humility, hence they can serve anyone regardless of their status or the status or position of the recipient.

This character of service opens you to a life of favour and preference among those who have the ability to bring your ideas and plans to fruition. Thus, you must not only learn to serve when occasion demands it, you must look for opportunities to serve others - this is a better way.

OBTAIN YOUR FATHER’S BLESSING

(Genesis 27:27)
”And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:”

Your earthly parents do have a huge stake or part in your life; you carry their genes among others. That seed which they have in you confers upon them the power to bless you. And surely, God honours their words regarding you.

There is such a thing as the Blessing of a Father, and the Bible stresses its importance all through scriptures. Abraham blessed Isaac (Gen. 25:5), who in turn blessed Jacob (Gen. 28:1).The twelve sons of Jacob were already fathers when hetoo blessed them. It was not a surprise that each turned out just as their father had pronounced. This is instructive!

Therefore, like Jacob who brought venison to his aged father in exchange for the blessing, see to it that you gladden the heart of your earthly parents and even your spiritual parents today, so that they may pronounce upon you their blessing, which the Lord will surely uphold and prosper you according to their words. Be wise!
