Humility is a state of being humble, meek, lowly and modest. A person that is humble is not arrogant but modest in all he does. Humility is one of the attributes of a good Christian.

St Paul and st peter were the two apostle's that made remarkably teaching on humility. In Paul's letter to the Philippians, he stressed the need for a sense of humility among the church members because there was disunity in the church as a result of lack of humility. Therefore Paul advised them to live in harmony and not to do anything out of selfishness or deceit rather they should put the interest of others, first before their own.

Paul used Jesus as an example by telling them that Jesus was in the form of God, yet he did not count himself equal with God. He took the form of an ordinary servant and was considered as the worst death.

God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every other name that at the name of Jesus every tongue must confess that Jesus is lord. St peter advised the youths to be loyal to their elders and clothe the proud but give grace to the humble. Therefore, they should humble themselves under the mighty hand of God so that in due time he might exalt them.

They should cast their anxieties on God for he cares for them. Peter also said that Christians should be watchful because Satan moves around like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour. Therefore Christians should resist Satan at all cost because temptation is part of the things we pass through and if they endure with humility God will restore, establish and strengthen them. God give grace to the humble, he loves the humble indeed and exalts them but resist the proud.

A humble person renders selflessnes service to the society, he put the interest of the society first in whatever he or she does. Humility creates unity understanding and progress in the society.

Christians can express humility by showing love to the needy, respecting other and themselves, forgiveness to those who offend them, abiding by the law, ensuring peace and harmony in the society, contributing to the welfare of the society and preaching the word of God in order to win souls for Christ.

As members of the steemchurch we should put on the garment of humility and let it reflect in our hearts. It brings grace, upliftment and blessings. An humble man is a righteous man

Learn not to look down on people. Because our heavenly father watches over us and sees all. Avoid the spirit of pride because it always bring shame and downfall. May God bless us and grant us the grace to live an humble life.
