THERE'S ALWAYS GOOD NEWS
So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Every time we hear of some tragic or bad news fear or anxiety seems to rise in us spontaneously. These emotions come to us whether we like it or not and affect our reaction. In the same way, hearing of good news especially the good news of our Lord Jesus has a way of resurrecting faith in us which also affects our response.
In our opening verse the word of Christ being spoken of is contextually referring to the gospel; the good news, and this is what brings us faith. Hearing of this good news concerning what Christ has done not only brings us faith concerning salvation but on every aspect of our lives. Hearing the good news of the divine healing God (Isaiah 53:5) grants us faith in the face of sickness. The same goes for victory (Rom. 8:37) and so on and so forth.
Finally know that even if you are presented with bad news in life, there's always good news because of what Christ has done. Remember this and consider the works of Christ that your faith may be stirred up.
LIFE APPLICATION
For every bad news you receive ask yourself what is the corresponding good news from what Christ has done.

Father, thank you for the good news of the word and the faith it brings into my life.
