"Like Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring cities, which in the same way as those, having fornicated and
gone after the vices against nature, they were put for example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. "
This was the third example that Judas left us about apostasy in the past. He has mentioned the people of Israel in their unbelief, the angels who did not maintain their original state and became corrupt, and finally the peoples of Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities that were around them. These cities were punished in such a way that they are probably buried in the bottom of the Dead Sea. There is a belief that they have been located in that place.
We do not know if they have actually located them or not. And we are not sure that this is very important for the son of God. What interests us is that God destroyed these cities because their inhabitants desecrated the dignity of their own bodies and induced people to indulge in the most extreme forms of immorality.
It is interesting to see how the language and evaluation criteria of the people have changed with respect to the vocabulary of the Bible, which prevailed for an extended period of time. Adultery and moral aberrations are considered as free love. The person who is often intoxicated is considered a respected alcoholic, those who begin to try drugs and end up being controlled by them, are considered as people who exercise their freedom to opt for new forms of pleasure. On the other hand, some consider the murderer as a person "temporarily alienated". So Satan, the enemy of God, is doing a good job in indoctrinating the world with a new vocabulary. In spite of this, sin has not changed its meaning in the eyes of God. And the fact that in the past God has punished people and societies for these sins of sensuality, should be a serious warning for our generation. In the past God has judged this sin and in our time will also punish any civilization that moves too far in that direction. And for our part we ask ourselves if our societies have not already started that path, which seems to have no return. Well, dear friend, let's stop here for today.
