Psalm 71- Prayer of an old man
Psalm 71
never leave me in shame.
2 For your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
listen to me, and save me.
3 Be you my * rock of refuge
where I can always go;
give the order to save me,
because you are my rock, my strength.
4 Deliver me, my God, from the hands of the wicked,
of the power of the evil and violent.
5 You, Sovereign Lord, have been my hope;
I have trusted in you since my youth.
6 I have depended on you since I was born;
from the womb you made me born.
Forever I will praise you!
7 For many, I am a cause for amazement,
but you are my unshakable refuge.
8 My mouth overflows with praises to your name,
and all day proclaim your greatness.
9 Do not reject me when I get old;
Do not abandon me when I lack strength.
10 For my enemies murmur against me;
those who stalk me are conspiring.
11 And they say: "God has abandoned him!
Follow it and grab it, no one will rescue it! "
12 My God, do not turn away from me;
My God, come soon to help me.
13 Let my accusers be humiliated;
that are covered with opprobrium and ignominy
those who seek my ruin.
14 But I will always have hope,
and more and more I will praise you.
15 All day long my mouth will proclaim
your justice and your * salvation,
although it is something that I can not decipher.
16 Sovereign Lord, I will relate your powerful works,
and I will remember your righteousness,
of your justice only.
17 You, O God, have taught me from my youth,
and even today I announce all your wonders.
18 Even though I am old and comb gray hair,
do not abandon me, oh God,
until I announce your power
to the next generation,
and make your exploits known
to those who have not been born yet.
19 O God, you have done great things;
Your justice reaches the heights.
Who is like you, oh God?
20 You have made me go through many misfortunes,
but you will give me life again;
from the depths of the earth
you will get up again
21 You will increase my honor
and you will comfort me again.
22 For your faithfulness, my God,
I will praise you with string instruments;
I will sing to you, O Holy One of Israel,
Let's go with the lyre.
23 My lips will shout with joy
when I sing to you, psalms,
You saved my life
24 All day long he will repeat my tongue
the story of your just actions,
Well, those who were looking for my bad
They have been confused and ashamed.
