STEEMCHURCH: The Sin of Idolatry.
Leviticus 26: 1
"You shall not make idols, nor set up a carved image or sacred pillars, nor set in your land engraved stone to bow down before it; because I am the LORD your God.
Idolatry means worshiping images, worshiping reverence or venerating an object that is considered divine, unfortunate the world is full of images of plaster, silver gold, manmade stone, the devil since the beginning of the world has invented false gods to humanity for the purpose of sowing the sin of idolatry on earth and that the souls were lost, since Satan was banished from heaven has been dedicated to sowing evil on earth and doing everything contrary to the laws of God. God hates idolatry.
To venerate an image is to sin against God, God is the only one who really loves us so much that he sent his only begotten son to die to die for our sins, to kneel down for anything made by the hand of man is an abomination, God he hates idolaters since it is an attitude of disobedience against him and his laws, every sin has its consequence and it separates us from God, many people have beliefs like: I will place a bracelet to the children with a jet, place a bush of zabila or a palm cross behind the door etc, through ignorance become idolaters, salvation is not in an image but in the faith and love that we have in Christ Jesus and obey his laws and let him be our guide lives.
Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary so that we would have eternal life, we should not waste the opportunity he offers us through repentance of our sins and obedience to his commandments.
Exodus: 20: 4
You shall not make for yourself an idol or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth.
