FULFILLED PROMISE
The Spirit of God is part of the Trinity. The Trinity is made up of the God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Just as the word (Jesus) who had been with the father from the beginning,
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God,and the Word was God..., so also was the Spirit with God from the beginning.
Gen 1:2 ...And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.. This made us know that the Spirit is among the Trinity and that the Trinity exist as one from the beginning.
In the new testament, the Holy Spirit came in the fulfillment of the promises Jesus Christ made to His disciple before His ascension to heaven.
John 15:26 but when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.This showed vividly the relationship among the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is considered to be the third member of the Godhead.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is made up of knowledge, emotion and will.
1 cor. 2:11 For who knows a persons thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.The passage above showed the great knowledge of the Holy Spirit. He teaches us all things. Remember a teacher teaches only that which he knows.
Romans 15:6 I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf...This made us to know that the Spirit has emotion for us. He feels our pains, happiness and lot more even more than we can ever imagine.
The Spirit of God does not impose on us what to do, else, He gives us chance to choose that which we will.
This opportunity of free will has been misused by many Christians nowadays, are you one of them?
ROLES OF HOLY SPIRIT
The main role of the holy Spirit in the life of believer is to witness of Jesus Christ.
Once we are saved and belong to the family of Christ, the Holy Spirit resides in us forever. Sealing us to the covenant of sonship. John 1:12.
Among those roles are:
1.) He reveals to us the truth.
John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
2.) He gives us gifts.
1cor. 12:12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God …
This passage described the spiritual gifts given to believers in order to function as the body of Christ on earth.
3.) The spirit also function as fruit producer in our lives. When the Spirit dwells in us, He begins the work of harvesting His fruits in our lives. These fruits are; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Gal. 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Holy Spirit is one of the greatest gift giving to us by Jesus Christ. Just as God gave us Jesus to bridge the gap that had been between man and God after the fall of man in the beginning. So also Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit from the Father that He may bear witness of Him (JESUS).
Then as believer, what do you do with the Spirit that has been given to you? Do you grief Him or you make Him happy? Has He not even left you? Do you tell it to others that you carry Him?
Do forget your duty as a believer....
Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Hence, It is a promise that has been fulfilled make sure you are filled with Him.
Thanks for reading to this end. Remain blessed.
May you be blessed as you begin to bear witness of

i Agree with you the holy spirit is considered to be 3rd member of God head
The Holy Spirit in order words is the ghost of Jesus Christ. We all never met Jesus in person but the Holy Spirit reveal Him in our lives.
This is the reason we are able to life the kind of life Jesus lived.
Glory be to God for the Holy Spirit.
The Trinity is God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit always guide us through out.
I really love this part "Then as believer, what do you do with the Spirit that has been given to you? Do you grief Him or you make Him happy? Has He not even left you? Do you tell it to others that you carry Him?
Do forget your duty as a believer"
Such a delicate topic you took on there. A nice and educative read. And good how you highlighted the functions of the Holy Spirit. He is also called the Paraclete. And has been with the Father and the Son since the beginning of time.
Thanks for this.
"The main role of the holy Spirit in the life of believer is to witness of Jesus Christ"
You've said it all bro. Well said.
Thanks for sharing this with us, like I said before, we must all be spirit filled as a Christian, is important
Thank you @alayor God has promised us of his blessings right from the time of creation and he has always be fulfilling it.
When christ came to the earth he died and before then he promised his desciples of a comforter who is the holy and he definitely fulfilled it through his powers .
He the lord has plan for all of us and those who have faith and trust in him.
He is always faithful
The Trinity is mysterious and exciting. The Trinity consist of three persons in one God. The father, the son and the Holy Spirit.
The three that make up the Trinity places significantly important roles and work hand in hand.
I also got to understand most importantly the main role of the holy Spirit in the life of believer is to witness of Jesus Christ.
Once we are saved and belong to the family of Christ, the Holy Spirit resides in us forever. Sealing us to the covenant of sonship. This is true and important for us Children of God.
