Our anchor scripture will be taken from:
Luke 16:10

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

I know most of us have heard the saying that goes, "The little things are what matters the most". Even though some persons find this a hard saying, but it is the truth.
Looking at our anchor scripture, we observe that, one who can't do the little things right, will never be able to do the big things right.

Helen Keller had this to say, "I long to accomplish great and noble task but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as though they were great and noble".
Most of us wish to accomplish big things in life so badly that we neglect the seemingly small things. We are quick to forget that the big things consists of those seemingly small things.

"The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker". -Helen Keller.
Have you ever taken time to wonder why Jesus didn't say, "if you have faith as big as a mountain, but said as small as a mustard seed"?

What then are these little things we've often neglected?
James 1:27

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

  • Visit the fatherless: Never underestimate the smile you can put on the faces of the orphans when you go visit them.

George Washington Carver said, "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the strong-willed because someday, you will have been all of these."
Mother Teresa was a woman who gave her life to be a smile giver. Her philosophy was, "Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier."

  • Practice Gratitude: You may not have all that you desire to have but be grateful for the things you have because those things you have are someone else's prayer point. Even scripture encourages us to give thanks always (1Thessalonians 5:18, Ephesians 5:20)
Never take for granted, the power of a grateful heart.

  • Check up on others: Sometimes, only a text message to that friend or a call, can make the person's day. Your call could be that thing that gives your friend a reason to not give up on life.

The list is endless...

I encourage you all to take out time and practice those seemingly small things, only then will you understand their values.
