Hello dear steemians!!!

I have been sort of busy because I'll be moving to another city in less than 2 weeks, I just came up with the theme for our next contest, thats mainly why I hadn't posted it earlier.

Like past contest 50% of the SBD will be for the prizes, 30% for 1st place and 10% for 2nd and 3rd place each, additionally there will be @steembasicincome shares sponsored by @josephsavage.

Let's proceed with this contest theme...

Theme

This contest theme will be Mythological Characters & Creatures

How about that hmm? any Mythology, it would be interesting to see creatures from local myths from where you live and you have to include the story of said creature or character in your post , this way we get to know what is it about and at the same time share part of our culture, this doesn't restrict you to only represent something from your local Myths but you are free to do Ancient Greek Mythology or any you want, feel free to exploit your imagination and creativeness as much as you want.

Mythology according to wikipedia:

Mythology refers variously to the collected myths of a group of people[1] or to the study of such myths.[2]

A folklore genre, myth is a feature of every culture. Many sources for myths have been proposed, ranging from personification of nature or personification of natural phenomena, to truthful or hyperbolic accounts of historical events to explanations of existing rituals. A culture's collective mythology helps convey belonging, shared and religious experiences, behavioral models, and moral and practical lessons.

And here an Example of what you could do:

Pallas Atenas

Is the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom, handicraft, and warfare. Athena was regarded as the patron and protectress of various cities across Greece, particularly the city of Athens, from which she most likely received her name. She is usually shown in art wearing a helmet and holding a spear. Her major symbols include owls, olive trees, snakes, and the Gorgoneion.

In Greek mythology, Athena was believed to have been born from the head of her father Zeus. In the founding myth of Athens, Athena bested Poseidon in a competition over patronage of the city by creating the first olive tree. She was known as Athena Parthenos ("Athena the Virgin"), but, in one archaic Attic myth, the god Hephaestus tried and failed to rape her, resulting in Gaia giving birth to Erichthonius, an important Athenian founding hero. Athena was the patron goddess of heroic endeavor; she was believed to have also aided the heroes Perseus, Heracles, Bellerophon, and Jason. Along with Aphrodite and Hera, Athena was one of the three goddesses whose feud resulted in the beginning of the Trojan War. She plays an active role in the Iliad, in which she assists the Achaeans and, in the Odyssey, she is the divine counselor to Odysseus.

In the later writings of the Roman poet Ovid, Athena was said to have competed against the mortal Arachne in a weaving competition, afterwards transforming Arachne into the first spider; Ovid also describes how she transformed Medusa into a Gorgon after witnessing her being raped by Poseidon in her temple. Since the Renaissance, Athena has become an international symbol of wisdom, the arts, and classical learning. Western artists and allegorists have often used Athena as a symbol of freedom and democracy.
