I wrote this article 4 days ago about facebook silencing the posts of steemit users without informing them.

Mark Zuckerberg just filled his nappy!!! Facebook's DIRTY tactics against STEEMIT...

This was so well received and a huge discussion was generated where I met a lot of wonderful people and learned that what I was addressing was just the tip of the tip of the iceberg... Turns out that they see a lot more about the personal information and conversations of it's users and uses the information in absolutely shocking ways that would usually never know about.

Through talking to a lot of people, most of whom reconfirm that Facebook blocks steemit posts yet the same content directly can generate up to 150 likes. That seems to be a wide known fact now. And form a membership perspective they are losing people fast and in doing that they are burning their own profits.

But here are some other very bad practices that they are engaged in. Not necessarily for their own benefit. But most certainly at the cost of others.

Ride you bike to work day

I was chatting with @royschuh who lives in near Silicon Valley near Facebook HQ who brought to my attention that they have these ride your bike to work days. It grabs attention and they are trying to use some sort of healthy lifestyle gimmick to get a lot of traffic and coverage. This caused a lot of problems for a lot of people. Here is what he said:

Hogging Real Estate and not using it

@royschuh who is a business person also pointed out that Facebook or their subsidiaries literally buy up or least out all the real estate by financial bullying to ensure that no one even has a chance to become their competition or develop into anything that may shave a tiny bit off their profits. But they never use the buildings. They just don't want others to use them either.

Then I read a magnificent post by @cryptoctopus who showed me that my post is only the tip of the tip on the iceberg he pointed out and Facebook are really causing extremely severe problems when it comes to privacy and safety of its users. And his article pointed me in a direction that uncovered a lot of dirty practice.

Facebook Censorship and the War on Free Speech

Blocking out steemit posts seems to be just Facebook being greedy and petty, there are worse cases of censorship where they are affecting global affairs. So much so that they have been put in their place. In this article it is said that they are “forced to back down when caught permitting anti-Israel postings, but censoring equivalent anti-Palestinian postings.” I mean... really?

Ridiculous excuses to exclude steemit posts

While I am writing this I just got a comment from @gokulnk, and he makes a good point. He points out that Facebook has a tiny disclaimer that says users cannot use Facebook for commercial purposes without their consent. It is a deliberate play on words and so many people do it for all sorts of reasons like garage sales etc. Here is where they state this. It is extremely vague and means almost nothing. What do you think?

Former Facebook Workers: We Routinely Suppressed Conservative News

Highly paid curators on the Facebook team influence what news it's users get to see and what they don't see. Firstly any news about Facebook itself is heavily suppressed to hide any dirt from it's users. And news stories that are naturally trending are suppressed if it does not meet the needs of Facebook. Other stories of benefit to Facebook are promoted using injection tools even if they are of low trend. So despite their image of being a neutral medium on news, Facebook's users see what Facebook wants them to see. Full details are here in this article. And this short video explains this very well:

Facebook Bans Canadian Libertarian For Saying It Targets Conservatives!

This is from a high profile post from @cryptoctopus Talking about how a libertarian Canadian commentator Lauren Southern was given a 1 month ban for pointing out that Facebook banning the administrator of a right-wing Facebook page. This only happened a few days after a widely publicised meeting of “top conservatives” with Mark Zuckerberg to address censorship of conservative media on Facebook.

Revealed: Facebook allowed NSA access to data and were in talks to set up 'spying rooms' despite denials by Zuckerberg over PRISM project

In short the PRISM project is an NSA project which collects communication data for the government. It is one of the technological wonders for breaching of privacy. Zuckerberg gave the government direct access to the servers and this was sparked through his statements. This article has some more details on this. Well when it comes to Mark, you can be the judge of what kind of man he is. But it is not hard to tell.
