How to GPU Mine into STEEM!
I've been running a Ethereum GPU Mining Rig with 2x R9 290's for about 3 weeks now and have made almost $100. I'm Running at Approximately 60MH/s
I was simply letting the Ether pile up and watching the market go up and down with the drama of the DAO hack. I believed in Ethereum in the long term so didn't bother buying any BTC. Being new to crypto currency in general, I figured I would wait a few months until I started trading and diversifying. I recently heard about STEEM and was interested, after seeing the price drop 20% today and Ethereum up 5% I figured it would be a good time to start diversifying.
I logged on to bittrex.com and sent 1 Ether over, after a few minutes it appeared in my wallet balance. I then traded it into Bitcoin and then from BTC into STEEM.
I think I'll hold STEEM and keep dumping some of my Ether into Steem for next little while (or at least until we see how the hardfork goes). Essentially mining for Steem, for the next little bit.
Your 2x 290s are rocking better than my sole 295x2 (and each one of my two cards was about 700$!). Seems like getting two cards are better than one, even if technically my card is supposed to be two built into one. Glad to see you on here, xyrzbest. All the best.
Is that you Omar?
Hey thanks a lot for the reply, love your videos. Generally dual GPU cards run slightly slower then 2 separate cards as they run a slightly lower clock speed to account for the extra heat produced in such a small space. Good to see you too!
Have you tried merged mining ETH + DCR or ETH + SC?
Can you explain why that is a good way to go?
Because you get two coins instead of one :-)
I do not have a rig to check the hashrate, so it's up to you.
More about the dual miner you may find here
You can buy STEEM directly with Ether here on the Steemit platform through your wallet.
didn't know that, I'm having trouble finding it.
Better buy STEEM at exchanges, eg Poloniex has a quite liquid STEEM/ETH market. Usually, you lose about 4% buying STEEM here, from BlockTrades, compared with the market deals.
Interesting idea)
Don't clickbait the title...
GPU mining "into" Steem, by just trading eth for steem? WOW FUCKING GENIUS. Here I opened it up thinking someone had compiled a gpu miner for steem. gtfo.
would have made the title "GPU mining FOR steem" if that were the case.
No, this is clickbaiting, there is no point in this shit post. good job upvoting yourself, proves how much more of shit you are.
Agreed
