$2,113.09 gross sales on our 1st day open @SteemGiftCards
STEEM.CARDS OFFICIALLY OPENED FOR BUSINESS YESTERDAY
I must say that I personally had very little expectations when it came to any activity on the site yesterday. The announcement post by @steemgiftcards was greeted with very little fanfare, but well received by those that engaged the post. Within minutes, my first order came in from @aggroed for a $100 amazon.com eGift card. I'd say in about 20 minutes, the api confirmed the order and fulfilled the request. @aggroed then resteemed and did his own post about his experience which you can read HERE.
When I fell asleep, we were at $1800.00 in paid sales. When I woke up, we were at $2,113.09. Our payments consisted of Steem, Steem Dollars, Bitcoin and Litecoin. We had 254 visitors, 20 paid orders, and several inquiries. There were absolutely no fiat payments made. I know that some people believe that turning crypto into fiat defeats the whole purpose. It's my belief that if steem and steem dollars don't move, then they will have no value. The more places it is accepted, the more potential it's value has outside of steemit. I welcome any feedback on this project.

Alas I am over in the UK. Do you have any info when we might be able to use these cards over here?
I publish the list of Businesses accepting payment in steem. I will make this an extra addition to the next edition.

Too bad, but I will be waiting patiently for the time that I can use Steem to renew my Playstation plus account. Steem is going places....thanks to you!
Thanks for the kind words. Accorsing to the playstation forum, Playstation cards can be used anywhere in the world.
Man this is a great program. Good job getting it up and running. The more apps and use cases for Steem the more mass adoption we will see. Cashing in SBD to blocktrades is cool but going straight to Amazon card is legit!
