When you are looking for a printer for your home or office there are only two types of printer to consider:
Ink-Jet Printer - usually better for home use
- small and light
- low initial cost
- easy to maintain
- good for colour print
- slow print speed
- ink cartridges are expensive - for some brands, it's better to refill or buy a new printer
- supports different types of paper
Laser Printer - usually better for office use
- big and heavy
- big initial cost
- harder to maintain than the ink-jet printer
- good for text and simple graphics but not for detail and colour rich images
- very fast print speed
- toner is more cost efficient than ink
- toner leaks may cause a big mess
The best printer for home use in my opinion
If you are not printing a lot of files at the time, the ink-jet printer is probably better for you. My personal choice is this EPSON primarily because of the low cost of ink cartridges.
Advantages:
- reliable
- low initial cost
- low running cost
- copy, print, and fax
- Wi-Fi
- paper tray (150 sheets)
- double-sided printing
- automatic document feeder (30 sheets)
Disadvantages: - noisy when printing
- slow print speed
- made of cheap plastic
- automatic feeder sometimes refuse to work until you change the paper config in the settings
- USB cable not included
