Hey, I'm not trying to make this post a NEGATIVE type of post but more like REALISTIC and SINCERE. Gonna make it short and sweet (trying to) to acknowledge some who don't know about it so and to ask for the opinions of people who have been done the same way.
The vague beginning..
My beloved community 'DDaily (aka 'DtubeDaily')' and exactly on Discord channel a few days back.. I saw people said something like 'Oh, I saw you sent 2 STEEM to him too' so I actually was curious and went to check the person's Steem account..
'People do send him money.. Do I miss anything here?'
NO! I did not miss anything
A few days later (Yesterday, that is) I got reached by DMing.
Let me clarify myself here first before you go and have a look at the real conversation I had with the guy last night.
- I usually answer people who dm me if 1) We have interacted through the platform at least a bit before 2) The msg doesn't sound so spammy.
- I have heard about the guy and what he's been doing before.
- I was not trying to be a b****

Now after the whole conversation, what do you think? Do you think this sounds spammy or it sounds reasonable? What would you do if you're in the same situation. Do you think I was too mean by saying all those so.
Though, I was kind enough to give him some guidelines..
Yes, making proper posts about the case or also put it on Fundition would totally help if it's really a HELP-NEEDED case.
Some friends who are in the same boat
I went straight to ask my fellow DDaily crew how many have been done the same way so far and here they came! Plus+ another friend I have asked through DM. You know, to each his own.. Some are more kind than another and some maybe more reasonable in his own way.
A friend of mine even make a video on DTube and was going to fund for the guy.. Oh my! Then, we had a talk. He actually regrets doing so..
I'm not here to talk against..
I feel bad that I rejected the guy (Think about if it's really a true story!) but at the same time I feel good for doing what it's right to do (Who does beg through direct messages??!).
I slept through it a night
Woke up this morning and it's still in my head! Oh my!!!!! Helpppppp!!! I read through all the discord chats again, check his profile and wallet.. Hmm..
I SENT HIM STEEM!

I STILL DON'T THINK 'DMing people and ASKING FOR MONEY' is the right way to do. My sincere suggestions : Fundition / Make good posts / make good videos / connecting with people with your sincerity. OH! You said you buy the art supplies, please join a lot of art contest out there on Steemit and get some Steem that you gain with PRIDE. By far, my small community 'DDaily' 5 of them got asked the same thing and I found it's crazy. 2 STEEM aint that much but if you ask for 20 people a day and half of them believe you, that's 20 STEEM! I'm not sure if the stories you tell people people (including me) are true. If so, I'm sorry about that. If not, karma is a what? and you know it. Either way, I CONSIDER THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY OF GETTING STEEM. IF PEOPLE ARE READING THIS, LET ME KNOW IF YOU AGREE. This is a kind msg. I was just messaged by him and checked his wallet and saw your message and came to your account and saw this post. I also asked around as I've never had any interaction with this person before and heard he was banned from a few other discord channels for doing the same thing and not repaying people. If he looked at my wallet, he would see that I don't have SBD to give and my situation isn't great at the moment either, but I'm not going around begging others for money. I enter challenges and also try to reply to people who comment on my posts when I get a chance to post. But my message was the exact same thing as yours but I did not respond and then I got sad faces. He has made more in steem than in the past two weeks than I have made since joining in July, and then I see he got whitelisted on minnowsupport, which could be a good thing for him if he would do as you suggested to him. I also do not think that being honest is mean. I wonder if he will see your post.

I still have not replied to his original message and I get sad faces today. I looked at his wallet and he got more donations and then checked out his blog and now he speaks French? I'm impressed. Good job Google translator. I was thinking about just signing him up for 0.500 SBI instead and just not responding to him. What are your thoughts on that?

Yeah. It was just a thought, but the more I think about it, the more upset I get about it. I don't like the idea of this person doing this and it seems he's been doing it for months now and getting banned from different discord servers and harassing others. I'm wondering how much he has actually gotten out of people.
Mo, I think you handled the situation well. That guy could get a lot more respect and Steem by making a post about his situation with photos and video. He should share his story not ask for handouts.

Ok let's be serious...
Im living on my own since 2007 and also knew that you have to put some work to get some money. Nothing its free but I still got this empathy somewhere inside of me and when this guy wrote to me I've just said "hmm... Ok I was in similar situation in my life few months ago that i don't have money for food so I knew how it is and 2 STEEM is very low amount. Good karma always back etc..." but from the other side I still got the same type on view as You that nothing its free and this is begging for money. Though that no one probably replied to him so he is still looking and I can be his only hope. Sorry haven't got a time to do a research on his Wallet but you've done it and that was a good thing. You are 100% right in this case and I can see thar more people have sent as well. But let's get to the punchline. For me is a good karma to help someone and if the person on the other side lied to me then karma will go back to that person. "Its all about the motherfuckin' energy. I'm telling you" but conclusion is to do a research before from now on.

Ohh sorry Ben is again on steemit? That sad. Few months ago there was Discord gaming group Gamers Unoted where guy @slothyy was leader and he started to do they same thing. Beging for cash, some excuses because somebody stole hisaptop etc.
I know that you Mo covered his Nick name, but maybe his nick was related to animals somehow? @slothyy Has several accpunts in this way and he was doing this all over on every account. @therealwolf discoverd his scamm sheme and wrote a post abaout this.
To allow people - don't help peoples who begs for cash with silly stories and excuses like "i dont have food" "I can't make content because I don't have laptop, bit somehow I contacted dniu via laptop etc."
Just ignore him, everybody of you worked hard for earning your Steem. Asking for cash like this is worse than being hobo or bum, because you don't even see who is behind this messages.

No one contacted me personally but I saw someone write a comment (in Spanish) on someone's post asking for $ and I basically replied the exact same thing as you. I just gave him tips on how to be more successful here lol

Yup I fell into it too. I'm actually very happy that you made this post though because I should have done what you mentioned and told him to Fundition. I just got caught up in the thoughts of "what if" and figured, if true, he'd be able to make more use of it than I could. I'll definitely be taking your advice on the recommendation next time!

I told the person that this isn't the way and gave him the benefit of the doubt. it might be worth more to him than it is to me, it might not. He might be a scammer (likely) but he might not. I also told him that it is this that is harming the system and destroying community trust. The more this happens, the less people will be charitable in the future toward certain communities. People are short sighted.

Oh well, dude made it seem like he was gonna fall off the face of the Earth if he didn't get the help he needed. 10steem, he said, for a bag of rice. I did point out a few arts contest he could join but then he said some stuff about Venezuela being at the brink of war. So I checked the wallet to find that so many others have supported. I figured it might be a scam and did it anyways. So yeah, I would not feel good to find that he was a scam afterall, but if it was for the right reason, then at least I helped.

Well i dont know the veracity of the story he presented, but i felt the need to show love to somebody in needy.
What still shocked me was the fact that there was no feedback after the transaction was completed.
