RE: Let's Talk—What Are Your Steem Power Goals for 2018?
What are you doing with your SBDs?
I am selling them for BTC on bittrex and immediately buy Steems with the BTCs.
What are your Steem Power goals for 2018
+30%
and how do you intend on achieving those?
Make one or two blog posts every day, now that I am fully retired and have no other day job.
That is until the next selfie contest by @papa-pepper.....then the new day job begins.
:-)
I got a question if I may, why don't you just use the internal market to sell your SBD for Steem and therefore avoid BTC fees?
I don't remember where I read that it was batter for us to do that instead of exchange on the internal market.
That's true, as long as you get good rates on the external exchange.
What this does is increase the Trading volume for Steem, making it feel like a more used cryptocurrency. Sadly the internal market is not included in the trading volumes for Coinmarketcap, making it seem like it is a smaller currency than it actually is.

Do you get more in return?
I believe so.
it depends, sometimes a little % cheaper to buy via bittrex.
Yeah, you're right that it's often a bit cheaper on Bittrex, but I would suggest that they always check both Bittrex and the internal market before buying anything to make sure they get the best deal possible ;)
Question: for a new account, how long does it take to get a decent amount of steem power assuming you are posting quality content every day?
It is impossible to answer this question, as there are many other parameters involved.
One easy answer is: if you buy Steem powers, you can get a "decent" amount immediately. But I guess your question was for somebody not buying.
To get more Steem power, it is important to have powerful followers that will upvote your quality posts.
To get powerful followers, you need to interact with them, so that they will be interested in you. Even better, if you can, you should help them to reach their own goals. "Give, and you will receive".
Also, their should be a common theme in most of your posts, so that people interested in the theme will come back to your blog and upvote your posts.
I see that your commitment to make at least 10 comments every day goes in the right direction.
Yep good stuff , vecelier. When you say "common theme" do you mean a particular subject or niche we should be discussing (that we have expertise on ) in our comments and posts? Or maybe a person's style of
writing ? Or maybe their general personality and opinions? Thanks. I am a Content producer for over 10 years now with a number of blogs. And just relatively new here and still trying to learn the ropes :)
Yes, a common subject.
Take for example @firepower.
If you look at his posts in the last 3 months, you can see 3 themes:
Another example with @sweetsssj:
Two series of posts that have been going on for months:
Another series, that she seems to have abandoned:
That is what I mean by "common theme".
Couldn't have said it better myself. :)
@vcelier that's great! I hope you get to your goals soon. Good luck to you! :)
My new years resolution is to buy bitcoin in 2011
