Why publishing on Steem is a great thing for bloggers!steemCreated with Sketch.

Would you like to do a new experiment? Are you planning to create a blog and want to reach a big audience quickly? Which is the best way to do so?

Have you considered buying your own domain? Or maybe you want to start blogging on a bigger platform, like Blogger, Wordpress, or somewhere else? Do you know what you will quickly experience? It takes a very long time to build a strong platform, and if you buy your own domain, it will also require lots of hard work with getting visitors to your platform and to strengthen the search engine visibility of your blog.

And yes, that is why Steem has done half the job for you already. Here you can publish and your posts will quickly get indexed by the biggest search engines. In that way, people out there searching the Internet will be able to find your posts faster than if you would publish them on most other platforms. It is also nice to know that Steem has a high rating, which also means your published post is more likely to show up in the search results, than if you would publish the same content on a platform with a lower ranking.

In other words, if your goal is to blog and to reach a big audience, then Steem is great.

So far, I haven't even mentioned the fact that you can actually earn money and get an income by simply having people vote for your comment. But, since you don't earn anything on any other platforms, this is just a big bonus. If you work hard and get some friends, you can actually make a nice income in this way. If not, you are still better off than just by publishing on other services.

If you want to build your own platform...

The Steem platform is not the best if you want to build your own name, or a platform for your product. You will for sure need your own domain, and your own design. So, that is not ideal here. But, if you want to have a blog running in addition, you could consider running one here. Do you know why? Not only will it increase your chances of being found online, but if you get some links from Steem blogs to your actual domain name, it will increase the domain rating of your domain on which your platform is running. The more links you have to your domain from other high ranking domains, will help the rating of your main platform. Isn't that great?

That is why I do not limit myself to Steem, but I also publish content on Medium, Reddit, Hive, and several others. I also publish on Wordpress blogs, Blogger, and of course, on my own domains. All in all, this will help generate traffic, which again will lead to income, and more sales (or whatever your goal is).

A great opportunity...

This article isn't really targeting all of those already on Steem. It is targeting those who recently heard of the platform and have caught an interest in the platform. I hope this article has made you curious. Create a user, give it a try, write a comment, and let me know if you have any questions. I would love to assist you!

Hi @unbiasedwriter

I fully agree with you, that creating your own blog and setting up our own domain cost money and time. And to bring traffic into it -> that's almost mission impossible.

And ... Steemit is definetly place to be. That's where users are, where traffic is. All we need to do is to learn to capture peoples attention and bring them into our blog (easier to say than done).

ps.
This kind of publication should be used more often to promote Steemit. I love how you pointed out great aspects of building presence on Steemit, without focusing on rewards.

Resteemed and upvoted already!

Yeah, bringing people to the platform is way easier to say than to actually do. but, I think the communities as they get growing and contain valuable information on topics, they will draw new users. And as people start to use the platform for blogging and share their posts on social media sites, it will help bring new users as well!

just be ur own boss

keep it up sir as this will definately gain a lot of bloggers here to post their content here.

Yeah instead I post on Facebook I post here on steemit not even earn much but thank you steemit

If you haven't yet, check us out over at www.peakd.com it is the improved version of this blockchain. More users and better experiences with honest groups.

There are honest groups here and there, so I wouldn't put it like that. But, that other platforms such as Hive, Medium, Reddit, Blogger, Wordpress, and so are useful, that I don't doubt.

Yeah, it is great, and the fact that you earn in addition comes as a nice bonus!

Here are the stats, I don't have empty words. It's funny your name is unbiasedwriter.

In my opinion, Steem is not a blockchain anymore, but a centralized ledger that stole money from its users.

Why would anyone build business here if this is the truth? Only uneducated will.

Peace.

That is stupidity... why do you use Twitter? Why do people use Facebook and Instagram? Because they are blockchain? They are not! People use it because it is good, and it helps them get business done! And yes, Steem will help in the same way to reach a new audience and to take their business to a new level!

Nice info, steemit is another great source of traffic for bloggers or any businesses that want to promote their products.

Back when this platform was a lot more popular than it is now I tried to get a bunch of people who were blogging elsewhere to do so over here as well. I don't even remember the name of the dApp that was meant to help out with this but back then the signup was so convoluted and difficult for new users to understand that very few of the people that I tried to get into Steemit were able to get through. It is ironic (moronic) to me that now it is much easier to get involved with Steemit, but the interest isn't really there anymore.

I keep my fingers crossed for the future because I do want it to succeed for sure.

It's almost like when everyone wanted to get an account on Bittrex, Binance and the others, but they had to stop new people from register, simply because the pressure was too high. I remember, it was so hard to register on Steemit, and you had to wait 2-3 weeks before you could register (if you did so by email). If you paid, it would be faster, but still, it was kind of a nightmare.

I guess time will show if it will ever get back to that position again when the number of new users will grow day by day... I hope it will :)
