Hive has surpassed Steem in value for the first time since October 2020
After the Hive/Steem fork, at first, it seemed as if most people were voting for the Hive blockchain, and it had a higher value than the Steem token in the first weeks after the fork. But, slowly the value decreased, and it seemed as if the price of the Steem token would go out as the more valuable token to hold). And it has seemed like that since for quite a while. But, then last night, Hive decided to move on, and after a giant leap, it reached a price above $1 per token. The price has since then decreased and it is currently trading at a price of $0,8.
The Steem token also experienced a pump at the same time, but at the highest, it reached $0,9, and it has now retraced to $0,77. In other words, the Hive token is still more worth than the Steem token.
Will Hive remain a more expensive token?
That might be a question many of us keep asking ourselves. I love a good debate, and I love discussing with @crypto.piotr and other friends what they think. The way I see it, predicting the future is very hard. I clearly see that the best developers all work on the Hive side, but one shouldn't underestimate the power of leadership with lots of money either (that is Justin Sun and Steem).
However, this is clearly a win for Hive, showing that it is powerful when people work together to see a project succeed, and when they work day and night to make the platform worth using. And it is also great to see that faithfulness is rewarded. It for sure wasn't motivating for the developers to work on the platform when they saw that the price was just falling, while the Steem price remained higher. But, faithfulness and faith in a project has given fruits, and I am really curious to see where Hive will move on from here.
The future of Steem and Hive
I just know that blogging and being rewarded for doing so is extraordinary and fantastic! I am so happy that I have discovered both platforms.
I don't dare to sell tokens from any platforms really, simply because I believe both of them have a future in this time.
Where will it go from here?
I hope the price of both tokens will keep on increasing. No matter what, I am long-term, so I am not planning to sell large portions anytime soon no matter what. So, the price could remain low as well so that I can just write and publish, comment, curate, and have a great time, while my stack keeps growing!
No matter what, this feels like a victory no matter what, and I look forward to seeing in what way the prices will move on in the future for both Steem and Hive!
What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts!
Hi @unbiasedwriter
Long-term maintenance is key to both platforms, without a doubt. Because I believe that both have the possibility to grow, there are developments on both sides, of course, many more in hive, that is in sight, however, we must maintain, be patient, this type of platform should start to be much more appreciated than instagram, facebook, etc. At least in my opinion.
Yeah - we just have to stay around, be patient, build, and then time will show what will happen to both platforms! No matter what, I am really enthusiastic about both of them!
Steem must have rallied because there is about a 30 cents difference between the two at the moment. I would really like it if we had a better interface over here because now that Steampeak is no longer an option we have been forced back to the default interface which I do not like very much.
If anyone has any alternatives they can recommend I would love to know about them bc, no offense, but the steemit.com interface just isn't very good.
Man, I am suffering from the interface myself... Really feels like we have moved back to the 80s, so hard and not practical. There used to be so many good options, but they have all seemed to die out. Would be great to see some better option come into existence!
How do I get to the Hive site? Is it only on mobile now?
