"My blindness helps me focus".
"My blindness helps me to focus", the blind motivational speaker added.
To buttress his point he narrated a story of how he had stopped by the supermarket on the way home, while returning from a meeting with his wife.
He explained that the plan was to get an item and had a budget for it. While inside the supermarket, the wife took a bit longer shopping for the item and when he asked her about the delay, she explained that she noticed a discount on the price tag of the item. She had then decided to shop for more items.
He observed that two things resulted from her noticing the price discounts. 1. She exceeded budget and 2. they got delayed at the supermarket.
He imagined that had he done the shopping himself, he wouldn't have noticed the price discounts and would simply have asked for what he wanted and that would be the end of it.
Moral of the story:
In the pursuit of our goals, whatever they are, we are best served if we adopt a blind approach to all forms of distractions on our way. We should be blind, so to speak, to things that have the potential to derail us from our target.
Now, as to the purpose of this post, how can a youngman or youngwoman, who desires to uphold Jah's lofty standards, succeed? By being on guard to recognize and run from distractions, whatever they might be. That vigilance is fueled by diligent study of Jah's word, the Bible.
Therefore, read God's word daily, meditate, stay vigilant, maintain focus and with His help, your goals will be attained.
