What happens when I click "Power Down"?
Windows has taught me to never click anything without knowing what will happen next.
Months ago while in Windows 7 I clicked the prompt about Windows 10 assuming I would have some options to back out afterwards. I was wrong (things have improved since then, but at the time, it was a cluster****).
After spending a week of talking with Woody Leonhard we figured out how to edit the registry and undo the mess that was started by clicking the prompt. So I don't ever want that to happen again.
Can someone tell me what exactly, step-by-step, will happen if/when I click the "Power Down" button on Steemit?
When you "Power Down", you're beginning the divesting process (withdrawals converting VESTS to STEEM, spread across 104 weeks).
Ok, but what happens? Will I get a prompt asking me if I want to do this or will it just start right then as soon as I click?
Do I get an option for an amount to divest?
No, I just tested on an account and as soon as you click it begins at the maximum amount.
It would be better it appears a confirmation message.... but if I remember right it is not the end of the World since there is an option to cancel the process afterwards... (please somebody confirm)

I tried the Power Down to see what would happen, and with one click it was set to do so (starting in a week). This may not be the worst thing, since I will plan to just re-invest it for awhile, but I'd prefer that when someone clicks on this, there should be some short explanation of it (a confirmation button would be nice, too). Thanks!

What doet it mean "Next withdraw scheduled is 23 hours from now. cancel"? (I see it in my dashboard).
I guess it means you will have 1/104 of your balance in liquid state steem after 23h, which you can then transfer, keep, exchange or power up again. It will not vaporize.
Very very nice post, and why is Window 10 so bad?
