Only five weeks have passed since we successfully developed the first prototype for STEEMPUNK-NET based on @dehenne and @jedigeiss Whitepaper during our two-day hackathon.

Since then we have been hard-working: With this post, the Closed Beta for STEEMPUNK-NET opens its doors for you. Be the first brave ones and test the Steemit-based game exclusively in its first public version!

Wait a minute - What is STEEMPUNK-NET?

For all those who are now confused as to what this is all about, a brief summary:

STEEMPUNK-NET is a social multiplayer browser game with cyberpunk flair that adds a playful component to your everyday life on Steemit.

While you are active on Steemit, you can duel with other Steemians, collect items and gain glory. The more actively you participate in Steemit and the more you play, the stronger your characters will become.

STEEMPUNK-NET is a hobby project that we develop in our spare time after work and on weekends. We are therefore extremely proud of what we have achieved in only five weeks of development time!

From prototype to closed beta

In the past weeks STEEMPUNK-NET has matured from the first prototype to closed beta.

We have implemented the following game components since the hackathon:

• Browser plugin development and integration in steemit. com
• Development of algorithms for combat system and item dropping
• Character selection for game start
• Definition and elaboration of types, stats and names for lootable items
• General Worldbuilding and Ingame Texts
• Illustrations for the four playable character types (Aristokrat / Adventurer and Male / Female) and almost 20 Items

Outside of the game we have also worked out some further topics:

• Development of a story in the STEEMPUNK-NET-Universium: Langdon Bennett – The invisible thief
• Launch and basic filling of the STEEMPUNK-Net-Website
• Establishment of the STEEMPUNK-NET Discord-Channel
• Development of a roadmap (scheduled release: next week)
• Weekly news about the status quo of STEEMPUNK-NET

As you can see, a lot has happened. Now the first daring ones of you have the opportunity to experience the development of the last five weeks live, to test and give feedback!

What awaits you in the STEEMPUNK-NET Closed Beta?

We would like to give our closed-beta participants some information in advance so that everyone knows what to expect.

You will play the first MVP-version of STEEMPUNK-NET. This means: It is a "Minimum Viable Product" and is the very first functional iteration of the game. This is not an almost completed game, as you might expect from Steam, GoG & Co.

With the Closed Beta, we want to give you as the first users the opportunity to actively influence STEEMPUNK-NET. Together with you, we want to test whether the game idea actually works as well as it sounds on paper. And we want to find and fix bugs, errors and balancing problems.

Features of the Closed Beta include:

• Character selection at the beginning of the game
• Fighting system with duels against other Steemians
• Collect items
• Getting stronger by activity on Steemit (post, comment, vote)
• Improved Item Droprate through activity on Steemit

Possible problems you're likely to encounter:

• Bugs
• Unbalanced balancing of the battle system
• Unbalanced balancing of item drops
• Usability problems with the user interface

If you are one of the closed beta participants of STEEMPUNK-NET and want to get access, please do the following:

• Contact us via the official Discord-Channel and tell us that you are participating in the Closed Beta.
• We give you access to our Discord channel for beta, the-zeppelin-bend. There you will find further information and a link to the browser plugin for STEEMPUNK-NET.
• Follow the installation instructions and start playing STEEMPUNK-NET!
• Please also use the-zeppelin-bend to give us feedback about your experiences within the game.

STEEMPUNK-NET Closed Beta startet – Testet jetzt das Steemit-RPG!

Nur fünf Wochen ist es her, dass wir beim unserem Hackathon an zwei Tagen erfolgreich den ersten Prototypen für STEEMPUNK-NET auf Basis von @dehenne und @jedigeiss Whitepaper entwickelt haben.

Seitdem waren wir weiterhin fleißig: Mit diesem Post öffnet die Closed Beta für STEEMPUNK-NET ihre Pforten für euch. Seid die ersten Wagemutigen und testet das Steemit-basierte Game exklusiv in seiner ersten öffentlichen Version!

Moment mal – Was ist eigentlich STEEMPUNK-NET?

Für alle, die jetzt verwirrt sind, worum es hier überhaupt geht, eine kurze Zusammenfassung:

STEEMPUNK-NET ist ein Social Multiplayer Browser Game mit Cyberpunk-Flair, mit dem ihr euren Alltag auf Steemit um eine spielerische Komponente erweitert.

Während ihr auf Steemit aktiv seid, könnt ihr euch mit andern Steemianern duellieren, Items sammeln und Ruhm einheimsen. Je aktiver ihr euch auf Steemit beteiligst und je mehr ihr spielt, desto stärker werden eure Charaktere.

STEEMPUNK-NET ist ein Hobbyprojekt, dass wir in unserer Freizeit nach Feierabend und am Wochenende entwickeln. Wir sind daher mächtig stolz darauf, was wir in nur fünf Wochen Entwicklungszeit auf die Beine gestellt haben!

Vom Prototypen zur Closed Beta

In den vergangenen Wochen ist STEEMPUNK-NET vom ersten Prototypen zur Closed Beta gereift.

Folgende Game-Komponenten haben wir seit dem Hackathon umgesetzt:

• Entwicklung des Browser-Plugins und Integration in steemit.com
• Entwicklung von Algorithmen für Kampfsystem und Item Dropping
• Charakterauswahl für den Spielstart
• Festlegung und Ausarbeitung von Typen, Stats und Namen für lootbare Items

Was erwartet euch in der STEEMPUNK-NET Closed Beta?

Unseren Closed-Beta-Teilnehmern möchten wir hier vorab ein paar Informationen geben, damit jedem klar ist, was ihn erwartet.
