Do not lose your password, your account cannot be recovered if you do.

The difficulty in recovering the password, and high security of Steemit is one reason that people are less likely to migrate from facebook.
I hope a system is put in place to help people back up their keys. Perhaps a keyfile that is autogenerated and lets you save it to a usb drive.
My keys are all on an encrypted USB drive with KeePass
