...but steem just doesn't have same power as SP ;). But yeah, anything you have in SP shouldn't be more than you can afford to lose - as it could to 0 (hopefully not, though!).
Yeah but I don't see that happening. It's like if someone said to me would you bet so many hundreds of dollars on Mayweather beating McGregor if you are so confident that it will be a Mayweather win, then I wouldn't do it still! Anything can happen though.
To be honest, you should never keep coins on an exchange, I didn't have many so it wasn't a big risk for me.
The one thing I would say is that since the hard fork, either an update was required from the STEEM side or it was Poloniex who didn't update and used that as an excuse, not sure really, but I'm just glad to be able to get my cash outta there!

haha by looks of things you already have quite a substantial amount of SP.
Sometimes it's better to keep some liquid STEEM.
