Should i sell myself in the internet to be popular?

Hello, i'm new here today is my second day here and i saw people is only voting or posting to introduction posts only while they put a picture on it.

Well, i'm a kind of person that dont like pictures... Yes maybe is strange but what can i do if i dont feel myself confortable uploading my picture to show who i am to anybody here...

This post is just to know your point of view and explain mine.

I would like to see more salutes in my introduction post, that's why i made, to introduce myself but people is not interested to know me while i dont put a picture.. But yesterday a girl seconds after i posted my introduction she did post her introduction, she only wrote her age, her name... some words about her and lot of pictures...

In few seconds she had +10 votes i had 1 (mine), she had only comments about how much beautiful she was.... Well, i had one salute but no vote XD

Why is people like that? Why if i dont put my face in the internet to show it to anybody people won't be interested to read, comment, vote...?

I would like to read your opinions.... and please, answer to this question... Should i sell myself in the internet to be popular?

Of course my personal answer is NO and i won't put my picture over the internet to sell my life.
