What is Steem power and why should you collect it?

Steem Power. One of the most, if not the most important asset on the Steemit blockchain. But what makes Steem Power any different than Steem or Steem Dollars, and why should I collect Steem Power?

Well to be simple the more Steem Power you have the more influence you have over Steemit itself. With more Steem Power, your votes are worth more and you have a larger stake in the network. But besides having a larger amount of influence on the Steemit network, what other advantages does it have?

Well your votes have a bigger impact the more Steem Power you have. If you have, say 15 Steem Power your votes are going to be useful, but just not worth that much. But if you were to have 1500 Steem Power, you would have a much bigger impact with your vote, possibly making the post that you upvote make more money or attract more people. So with the more Steem Power you have, you can further the network and help Steem grow by making other people gain more Steem Power!

Basically, you can help other people and the Steemit network out by upvoting high quality posts while you have a large amount of Steem Power. You also begin to gain more Steem Power from curation and author rewards with the more Steem Power you have, meaning you make more money. It's also like making a long term investment as the value of that Steem Power will grow over time.

So in short, Steem Power is one of the most important assets on the Steemit blockchain due to its effect on how upvoting will effect the income of the author of the post, and works as a sort of long term investment as well!
