Primero que todo, para quienes no me conocen yo soy Jonathan Villarroel bajo el usuario de @roadstories, quien aterrizo en esta plataforma el 17 de diciembre del 2017. Me gradué de contador publico gracias a los ingresos percibidos por mis publicaciones en steemit (escritor de historias, relatos, ciencia ficción, fotógrafo novato) y a los trabajos que tuve en cada comunidad que me dio la bienvenida para formar parte de diversos equipos que trabajaron y siguen trabajando en pro de la comunidad.

First of all, for those who don't know me, I'm Jonathan Villarroel under the user of @roadstories, who landed on this platform on December 17, 2017. I graduated as a public accountant thanks to the income I received from my publications at steemit (story writer, short story writer, science fiction writer, amateur photographer) and the jobs I had in each community that welcomed me to be part of various teams that worked and continue to work for the community.

Quienes me conocen desde que llegue saben que mi postura de ser una persona humilde pero sincera nunca ha cambiado, sin embargo con el tiempo el hecho de querer tener una cierta profesión dentro de la plataforma me ha llevado a ser una persona un poco rigurosa sin tener que dejar a un lado el entendimiento mutuo. Una de las cosas que siempre me ha caracterizado es ser una persona que cuando tiene que decir algo, lo dice, no mira la billetera o poder que tenga alguien, admito que soy una persona dramática que le gusta defender mucho a la comunidad, cada vez que hay un problema yo siempre estoy metido como defensor, y es que con el tiempo he aprendido que los más pequeños dentro de este ecosistema debemos protegernos unos a los otros y apoyarnos inclusive cuando hemos tenido diferencias y sigan existiendo.

Those who know me since I arrived know that my position of being a humble but sincere person has never changed, however over time the fact that I want to have a certain profession within the platform has led me to be a bit of a rigorous person without having to put aside mutual understanding. One of the things that has always characterized me is to be a person that when he has to say something, he says it, he doesn't look at the wallet or power that someone has, I admit that I am a dramatic person that likes to defend the community a lot, every time there is a problem I am always involved as a defender, and it is that with time I have learned that the smallest ones within this ecosystem must protect each other and support each other even when we have had differences and continue to exist.

Antes de empezar con el razonamiento por el cual estoy aplicando a este proyecto, quiero comentarles que mi posición ante todos los cambios que hemos tenido estos últimos meses ha sido neutra, pero que también he sido un critico sobre el manejo de la plataforma antes de que esta cambiara de dueño. Con esto no quiero decir que todos los testigos hicieron las cosas malas, no, quiero enfatizar mi posición neutra que con todo derecho tengo y tenemos todos. Sin embargo, no me voy a detener a hablar ni mal ni bien de nadie, puesto que lo que siempre me ha importado desde que estoy aquí es ser útil para la comunidad, y a raíz de ello es que he tenido grandes experiencias y aprendizaje.

Before starting with the reasoning that I am applying to this project, I want to comment that my position on all the changes we have had in the last few months has been neutral, but also that I was critical of the management of the platform before it changed hands. For this I do not mean that all the witnesses did the wrong things, no, I want to emphasize my neutral position that I have the right to do and that we all have. However, I am not going to stop and talk either good or bad about anyone, since what I have always cared about since I have been here is being useful to the community, and as a result I have had great experiences and learning.

Mis inicios laborales dentro de steemit/ My early work at steemit:

No tengo fecha exacta de cuando la única comunidad representativa de los hispanos @cervantes me contrato para ser colaborador y moderador, lo que si es que solo pasaron 2 meses o un poco menos desde que entre a steemit. Desde ese instante empece a crecer como persona aprendiendo a usar herramientas como discord y el tener que buscar conocimiento amplio par a ayudar a cada uno de los usuarios que iban llegando con miles de dudas, desde temas de criptomonedas hasta el funcionamiento en general de steemit y del servidor para efectos de promoción de publicaciones. Con el tiempo se me dieron mas cargos bajo un proyecto de curación por moderadores donde podíamos palpar mas de cerca el hecho de curar para un testigo y representante comunitario, eso para mi era un logro enorme.

I don't have an exact date of when the only representative community of Hispanics @cervantes hired me to be a collaborator and moderator, which is if it was only 2 months or a bit less since I entered steemit. From that moment I started to grow as a person learning to use tools such as discord and having to seek comprehensive knowledge to help each of the users who came with thousands of questions, from issues of cryptomonies to the general functioning of steemit and the server for purposes of promoting publications. With time I was given more charges under a project of curation for moderators where we could feel more closely the fact of curation for a witness and community representative, that for me was a huge achievement.

El formar parte de un equipo tan importante como lo fue y sigue siendo @cervantes me abrió muchas puertas, fue entonces que con el tiempo me hice curador oficial de la comunidad @templo donde hacia curaciones diarias de todos los temas posibles y habidos, desde arte, fotografía, literatura hasta cultura y un apartado especial para las mascotas que son parte de nuestro mundo. Gracias a todo lo que aprendí pude defenderme como un excelente e integral curador quien a su vez era vigilante de que no se recompensara aquellas publicaciones que cometían abuso por plagio o spam. Siempre he dicho que el rol de un curador es muy importante, ya que de esto depende el valor monetario y moral que puede sentir el usuario a la hora de hacer contraste de sus esfuerzos en cada publicación que nos muestra y ala recompensa obtenida.

Being part of a team as important as it was and still is @cervantes opened many doors for me, it was then that with time I became the official curator of the @templo community where I did daily curations of all possible and past topics, from art, photography, literature to culture and a special section for the pets that are part of our world. Thanks to everything I learned I was able to defend myself as an excellent and integral curator who was also vigilant that those publications that committed abuse due to plagiarism or spam were not rewarded. I have always said that the role of a curator is very important, since on this depends the monetary and moral value that the user can feel when contrasting his efforts in each publication he shows us and the reward obtained.

Bajo todos esos conocimientos y el querer intentar crear una comunidad para abarcar mas dentro de los hispanos funde con mis colegas y amigos @theartemis, que si bien no tuvo nunca poder de voto, se las ingenio a través de ayudas como las de @templo y hasta otra blockchain Whaleshares (donde teníamos apoyo directo de un testigo e ingeniero de la pagina), gracias a esto pudimos ayudar a muchas personas bajo la curación en whaleshares que para ese tiempo era muy reconocido también y con gran potencial, muchos usuarios de steemit hacían vida en dicha plataforma.

Under all this knowledge and wanting to try to create a community to embrace more within the Hispanics merged with my colleagues and friends @theartemis, which although never had the power to vote, managed through aids such as @templo and even another blockchain Whaleshares (where we had direct support from a witness and engineer of the page), thanks to this we could help many people under the curation in whaleshares that for that time was also very recognized and with great potential, many users of steemit made life on that platform.

El hecho de trabajar con ese intercambio de negociaciones entre distintas plataformas, da como otro ejemplo mi posición neutra y altruista, nunca he sido una persona que va a menospreciar el trabajo de otros y menos cuando involucra comunidades llenas de personas con ilusiones y expectativas. A pesar de que fue por corto tiempo en comparación con otras experiencias, estuvo lleno de buenas cosas y mucho más aprendizaje.

The fact that I work with this exchange of negotiations between different platforms, gives as another example my neutral and altruistic position, I have never been a person who will despise the work of others and even less when it involves communities full of people with illusions and expectations. Even though it was for a short time compared to other experiences, it was full of good things and much more learning.

Pero mi camino no termino allí, nació la herramienta de las tribus y tokens que si bien no fue una experiencia del todo agradable, pude conocer a gente importante que me dieron cargo de administrador para colaborar directamente en la estructura de equipos de trabajo y en toma de decisiones. Estuve dentro de la comunidad Photostreem y Spanish-tribe, en este ultimo solo era un intermediario entre el creador del token, sin embargo en photostreem tenia más protagonismo y trabajo por hacer, es decir, nunca deje de trabajar por la comunidad a pesar de que varias puertas se cerraban pero muchas otras se abrían.

But my path did not end there, the tool of the tribes and tokens was born. Although it was not a totally pleasant experience, I was able to meet important people who gave me the position of administrator to collaborate directly in the structure of work teams and in decision making. I was inside the community Photostreem and Spanish-tribe, in this last one I was only an intermediary between the creator of the token, nevertheless in photostreem I had more protagonism and work to do, that is to say, I never stopped working for the community although several doors were closed but many others were opened.

Una de las cosas por las cuales siempre me he sentido agradecido y atado a steemit a pesar de todas las cosas, es el hecho de que los sueños se hacen realidad, lo digo por mi ultima experiencia como curador oficial de la comunidad hispana dentro del proyecto @ocd. Meses después que entre como moderador a @cervantes y de ver los votos y el trabajo que hacia el proyecto @ocd, me dispuse a crecer como curador y ganarme ese puesto. A pesar de que pasaron casi 2 años para lograr llamar la atención de ellos, el sentimiento fue lo mismo, me sentí agradecido y honrado por formar parte de una comunidad anglo con una gran reputación que si bien ya no esta curando dentro de steemit al igual que muchos proyectos donde estuve trabajando, el agradecimiento siempre sera el mismo y las ganas de seguir ofreciendo mi labor como curador a ellos también.

One of the things for which I have always felt grateful and tied to steemit in spite of all things, is the fact that dreams come true, I say this for my last experience as official curator of the Hispanic community within the @ocd project. Months after I entered @cervantes as a moderator and saw the votes and the work that the @ocd project was doing, I set out to grow as a curator and earn that position. Although almost 2 years passed to get their attention, the feeling was the same, I felt grateful and honored to be part of an Anglo community with a great reputation that although it is no longer curating within steemit as many projects where I was working, the gratitude will always be the same and the desire to continue offering my work as a curator to them as well.

Por qué quiero ser curador / Why do I want to be a curator?

Si bien es cierto que todos podemos ser curador y mas aun si tienes un buen poder de voto, siempre he tenido presente y les he mencionado a muchos que esto es algo de mucha responsabilidad y más cuando estas haciéndolo a través de un proyecto y no con tus propios recursos.

While it is true that we can all be a curator and even more so if you have good voting power, I have always kept in mind and mentioned to many that this is something of great responsibility and more when you are doing it through a project and not with your own resources.

Un curador no puede imponer sus sentimientos y problemas a la hora de valorar una publicación, es decir, estamos hablando que esta persona debe valorar el contenido no a la persona, el hecho que exista o no la descentralización no resta que estas trabajando para alguien más y no solo se trata de tu reputación sino también de dicho proyecto.

A curator cannot impose his or her feelings and problems when it comes to evaluating a publication, that is to say, we are talking about the fact that this person should value the content, not the person. The fact that decentralization exists or not does not detract from the fact that you are working for someone else and it is not only about your reputation but also about the project.

Un curador debe tener el conocimiento sobre las herramientas para detección de plagio y abuso, no se trata solo de votar, se trata de buscar el verdadero valor de lo que estas viendo y parte de ello también es familiarizarse un poco con los usuarios, algo de lo que me ha dado el ser moderador y un colaborador activo en cualquier comunidad, si necesitas ayuda con algo simplemente vas me preguntas y si tengo la respuesta o el consejo, te lo voy a dar.

A curator must have the knowledge about the tools for detecting plagiarism and abuse, it's not just about voting, it's about looking for the true value of what you're seeing and part of that is also to become a bit familiar with the users, something that being a moderator and an active contributor in any community has given me, if you need help with something you just go and ask me and if I have the answer or the advice, I'll give it to you.

Para concluir/ Finally

Estoy ofreciendo lo que siempre he dado como curador en las diversas comunidades en las que he podido trabajar, un trabajo integral, donde no mezclo las cosas personales, sino mas bien disfruto de cada contenido y lo valoro según los recursos que tenga a mi disposición, desde hace rato vengo diciendo que steemit es mas que solo testigos y mucho mas que un nuevo dueño y nuevo pensamiento, steemit es la comunidad, una comunidad que ha alzado sus manos muchas veces bajo el lema "Steem on", sin embargo os pido un poco de respeto a ver si se calman las aguas, recordando que todos tenemos el derecho de elegir que hacer.

I am offering what I have always given as a curator in the various communities in which I have been able to work, a comprehensive work, where I do not mix personal things, but rather enjoy each content and value it according to the resources I have at my disposal, for a long time i have been saying that steemit is more than just witnesses and much more than a new owner and new thought, steemit is the community, a community that has raised its hands many times under the slogan "Steem on", however i ask you for a bit respect to see if the waters calm down, remembering that we all have the right to choose what to do.

En mi caso yo siempre elijo ser útil, y por ello quiero ser y seguir siendo un curador.

In my case I always choose to be useful, and for that reason I want to be and remain a curator.

PD: Mi power down no es debido a que me voy de steemit, si bien pueden corroborar desde cuando empece mi power down, el cual he estado usando para cubrir mis medicinas y ahora también para cubrir los gastos de internet, que si bien no escapa de la realidad, Venezuela es el país con la peor señal de internet y el mas costoso, pero ya luego en otro post le hago referencia de esto ya que estoy por dar solución y seguir aquí en steemit como siempre lo he hecho a costa de todo :)

PS: My power down is not because I am leaving steemit, although you can corroborate from when I started my power down (long before steemit changed its owner), which I have been using to cover my medicines and now also to cover the internet expenses, that although it doesn't escape from reality, Venezuela is the country with the worst internet signal and the most expensive, but later in another post I refer to this since I am about to give a solution and continue here at steemit as I have always done at the cost of everything :)
