How should you view STEEMIT?
I see people all the time asking "how do i make more money on my posts?"
First off, strictly viewing Steemit as a way to make money in my eyes isn't the way to go, and is only going to end in you leaving and going straight back to facebook. Steemit was made as a social media platform, and curating on the Steemit platform will give you a return of SBD, and in turn you will "own some of steemit."
Making one good post Will give you some attention, and hopefully a whale will swim by and bless you with a solid upvote and boost up your rank! (happened to me once and i have never been so excited before in my life!) but what are you going to do when you're on your 10th post, and you have only gotten 3 upvotes each? The problem here is that you're only posting for the money.
How we should be thinking
Steemit was developed as a social media website, so why is everyone just using it to make money? If you only think of Steemit as a way to make money, you're going to be disappointed and quit. View it how you view facebook. scroll through it for hours on end, start your "debates" and comment. Get out there and COMMUNICATE with your followers and your peers. The more people you talk to and make laugh the more people will want to hear more from you!
TALK
Talking is how we as humans communicate, so why when someone leaves a comment, does it say "Nice post". If it was a nice post, maybe you would actually comment on something i said, a picture, a view you have or your opinion. Start some debates, start an argument for all i care! just start TALKING. People on Steemit just want to get the next trending post, when it shouldn't be that. We should be giving our friends the confidence to post again, comment again, and telling our friends about steemit!
Sharing Steemit
What do you do when your friend is sitting across the way on facebook for hours on end? Do you ask if they have heard about Steemit? There are potential followers everywhere, and not only just for a 1cent upvote, but to grow together! The longer that you are around and have loyal followers and friends the more you'll grow together and earn together. Building each other up is the best way to be successful.
Time
Have you ever hear someone say "Rome wasn't built in a day"? Well, thats actually true. The greatness and beauty of Rome took hundreds of years. So you cant base how well you're doing on Steemit in the first month. Give it time and dont stress! You will get there, we all will. Just put a little elbow grease in! Maybe delete your facebook so you spend more time on Steemit?
You're not alone, and theres light at the end of the tunnel!
Are you ok with making 10-15 good, heartfelt comments a day and maybe walking away with 2-3 new followers a day? I sure am! I joined facebook 8 years ago i think. If i base the rule of 2-3 new followers a day for 8 years thats 5840-8760 followers that are all growing together. I believe at that point you're going to be pretty successful, and you would have already trained yourself to make brilliant posts and more amazing comments.
At the end of the day, just hang in there
Steemit is a relatively new platform, and to be there at the beginning is a privilege, and if you build it, they will come! Stick around, and lets help the platform itself succeed, and from that success we all will win.
I hope you took something away from this post. If you're rank 25, all the way to 75 lets at least build someone up once a day. Make someone feel good about themselves and their post and appreciate your comment!
This post has a really good message. If everybody on Steem felt and acted this way the platform would be even more successful. Please continue to post positive messages like this as it will help improve this community dramatically. Keep up the good work!
thanks buddy. and yeah totally i wish we looked at Steemit as a social media, not a cash cow. i wish people spent their time on Steemit to see what others had to post and comment, not to only see how their post was doing and then be on their way. I think it will definitely turn around in a year or two for sure, especially when crypto becomes a more widely accepted thing!
Thanks for the quality post, it's really good ideas you share, I wish more people will undertand that and grow on steemit like you. ☺
thanks man! yeah i just wish people didn't give up on steemit just because they aren't making a few bucks. like every great thing it takes time!
steemit is not for week people, the strong ones always be succeessful. ☺
