Manchester United 2:1 Liverpool FC
Match
Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 (2-0) in the Premier League 30 streak. The hero of the Battle of Britain was Marcus Rashford, who scored two goals for the Red Devils. United in the league table "drove away" The Reds for five points.
Before the first whistle the referee of Manchester United at English bookmakers was not the highest. Liverpool's chances were higher, and after it became possible that the match would leave Paul Pogba because of the injury, the Red Devils' actions flew head-on.
The pitch quickly verified pre-match predictions. Jose Mourinho in the starting line-up of Manchester United made three changes. The injured Pogba was replaced by Juan Mata, Eric Bailly appeared in the middle of the defense and Marcus Rashford returned to the squad. And it was the English player who had the biggest influence on Manchester United offensive actions.
The Red Devils opened the match in the 14th minute of the match. David de Gea resumed play with a long kick from the goal. The mid-Liverpool head-shot won Romelu Lukaku and played excellently for Rashford. The Englishman fell into the penalty area, easily tricked Trent's Alexadra-Arnold, set the ball on his right leg and hit the Reds in the long corner. Loris Karius was without a chance!
After a moment, Manchester United accelerated for the second time. Again, De Gea played a distant ball on Lukaku. Belg this time gave the ball to Mata. The Spaniard ran into the penalty box with her, but he did not give a shot because Van Dijk stuck the ball. He did it, however, so unfortunate that the ball hit Rashford's feet. The Englishman immediately shot the long corner and defeated Karius for the second time.
In the 66th minute Liverpool got in touch with Manchester United. The guests scored a typical goal from nothing. On the left, Sadio Mane sent the ball into the penalty area. Bailly wanted to knock her out of the sixth meter, but he did so unlucky that the ball bounced off his leg and fell into the short corner of David de Gei's goal. For a moment, it seemed that the Iworyjczyk had recovered an injury to the ankle and a change would be necessary. The change actually took place, but Jose Mourinho decided to pull Marcus Rashford off the court and sent Marouane Fellaini to the plaza.
Jose Mourinho's players suffered to the final whistle. As if that was not enough, the technical judge decided to add up to six minutes to the regular time of the game. In the added time Mane had the opportunity to put a shot on the weight of the tie. Bailly blocked him in a beautiful style, who could not save himself a suicide. The Ivorian stopped the charging Firmino a moment later. When Mohamed Salah sent the ball into the grandstand after the corner it became clear that United will no longer release the set of points!
