Steem was always centralized by the biggest investors. It's just that before justin, noone thought it was valuable enough to take it over completely. Oligarchy is a form of centralization, and that was always present here.
The top stakers decide what happens in every fork because witnesses rely on them. Whenever you say "the community decides" you are telling a blatant lie. it doesn't matter how many informed minnows like me disagree with anything.
The shitty part in all of this was justin convincing binance to partake in the takeover. it is very very shitty but there is nothing else that wasn't already shitty.
I cannot prove all of this situation isn't more than a marketing stunt by investors just faking a fist fight.
