Deeply disappointed by steemit....
As before the steem experience is frustrating and highly technical, making a place biased towards those "in the know".
All i want to do is join a community and connect with like minded people. I'd rather stay on facebook at least its honest
Apparently after 2 posts ive been restricted...huh...why...wtf!!! Apparently i have to buy steem....wtf!!!
A group of kind steem people in a facebook group have done something with thier steem to help me....no idea what...
but I would like to say thankyou to them....but as i said I have no idea what happened

This is bullshit
This was promoted to me as a democratic place, a conscious community and clearly there a good folk here...
but it feels very much like the real world with the greedy, selfish and egotistical overpowering the uneducated and disenfranchised and it seems like the system is stronger than the little folk....
even your language minnows whales....plankon or is that plankton...who the fuck decided that i am a minnow....so offensive and btw whales eat plankton and minnows....
not a very supportive relationship at all....and wheres the catagory for sharks!!!!
Remember multi level marketing and pyramid sales where the ones at the top benefit from.the work and effort of the ones at the bottom...
...thus far it is a place of faceless trawling bots and feels like a very unfriendly and inhumane space...
Ill as usual give it some time but i have a life and if i have to consume hours and hours of my life learning how actually learn how to simply connect id rather not be here

You weren’t restricted. Blockchain transactions come with a certain cost, and that needs to be assumed by the account holders.
You get access to a censorship resistant, vibrant community, built on one of the most innovative technologies in the world. It actually makes sense that it’s not 100% for free 😉
As in real life so on the blockchain: everything comes with a price tag. If you’re not willing to invest any time and not wanting to learn anything new, then you’d hardly ever move forward.

as with the overwhelm of information and learning, i will get to reading it. right now most important is to let go of the initial arrrrghhhh moment and learn how best to engage with like minded people, mutually support and find simple ways to be heard and seen. i definately need more learning on blockchain tech in general. it will come....

yes the system can be frustrating and confusing at first, but once you get to know some people and make friends its fun!
I really hope so. Im not going to let this consume my every waking moment...i have facebook and Netflix for that lol...i will checkout people as i do want to connect and to have friends just like my facebook space. Here i can say more and i do some things to say....ohoooo.
Yeah I am finding it a little overwhelming myself. However I am willing to learn and at least Steemit does not sell my data. That means something to me.

Like i said ill give it a go. I hear what youre saying about data but as soon as you were born and in got a national insurance number, tax code, drivers license, bank account....well we all lost our privacy and data looooong time ago...but i do hear what ya saying. Good luck with steem
Yeah I get that. But with Facebook you are contributing content and they are mining your data to sell to companies.
I will stick with Steemit. Eventually I will learn it.

Steemit is not Facebook. It uses blockchain technology so you actually own a part of something that will exist forever. You can not be censored here. As part of that ownership, there's also responsibility. With Facebook they gladly pay for all the servers and such to host your data so they can extract value from it for advertisers. Here, the costs for running the network are shared by the network. In this ecosystem, the amount of Steem Power you have determines how much of the shared collaborative commons you get to use. By that, it means you can't post a bunch of times in a row and use up more bandwidth and storage space than you fair share. This is classic skin-in-the-game type stuff to ensure some people don't monopolize available resources (the free rider problem).
It's all super complicate and difficult to figure out. It takes work and time. It's like figuring out the internet in the early 90's, and it's not fun if you're not already a technologist. I'm a technologist, and I still get frustrated with how complicated these systems are.
But it's worth it.
As an early adopter willing to take risks and put in effort to figure something out few other people on the planet can, you are also participating in the potential early adopter rewards. This place is different, and it does have problems. That said, comparing it to centralized systems is like comparing apples to oranges. For your own sanity, go ahead and stay away for now. When decentralized technologies become the norm and usability of blockchain-based systems improve, we'll be here for you.
