Repair Cafe GBG #1 | Giving your gadgets a longer life..
Do you have to buy a new food processor just because the one from 1950 stopped working? No, that would be such a waste of resources to buy a new one that will break down once the guarantee period just ends! Visit one of the Repair Cafe's instead!
Gothenburg (Göteborg, the 2nd largest town in Sweden) joined the movement last spring and we are so proud of being able to use our skills to help people being more sustainable and not just throw stuff and buy new things all the time.
We fix broken mobiles, here our French member Clemént replaces the screen and goes through the steps with the owner of the phone!
Headphones are breaking first so we end up fixing a pair almost every time we open!
People come in with the oddest things, for example this projector from Germany in the 1930's and the lamp still working!
Stay tuned for more pictures with stories about repairing, we run the Repair Cafe every other Monday!

I guess adding it later won't generate the desired effect..

Hi! This is such a good project! Must be a lot of fun to see what people brings, will follow for more updates 😀
Hi, since you are from Malmö in Skåne I had to check your town and there is a Repair Cafe Skåne in the same place as your bike kitchen (we are also sharing space with our bike kitchen) and they meet every other Sunday (12 - 16) at Stapelbäddsgatan 3 and they started last summer so who is copying who? :)
It would be fun if you go there and take some pictures and photos so we can read about them!
Hi! That is actually on my list of things to post about! Was at stapeln yesterday and took part in a fantastic workshop about local currencies. Will be more in that subject also!
Looking forward to check out your post about the Repair Cafe in Malmö and the local currencies workshop.
If you plan to do more post about the Repair Cafe here, do include the coming dates you guys are there.
The every-other-Monday thing always makes me forget when to join you. You could also update this post with coming dates, peace.
