A Request from a Steemian - PLEASE Upvote the posts that you READ and find valuable!
Most of the time I try to post something that I think is useful for some people(Of course I have some posts that I am not proud of)whether they are Steemians or not. until one month ago and specifically before the HF-19 generally the upvotes of my posts were something about 50 to 100, and the number of viewers of my posts were something about 30 to 50(not a lot of upvotes and payouts for sure, I was fine with it anyway). but lately I see a big change of behavior on the network that concerns me and is kind of disappointing me. and that is holding back on upvotes by Steemians(maybe because the power of votes are too high right now and they don't feel sharing it with others).
for example the number of viewers of my posts is 50 but the number of upvotes are under 20, I understand if someone reads my posts and does not like it, He/She has the right not to vote on my post, but when he/she comments positively and appreciates the content of the post but does not care to upvote, in this situation I really don't know what to say, I did my job and tried to add some value to the platform, but what is the others job?
I only have one simple request and I hope whoever reads this tries to do it
Please Upvote a post that you read and you find valuable, it will help the authors keep doing the good job and not having second thoughts about about the platform
I needed to share this feeling with other Steemians, and I hope we all appreciate the effort of others in any ways we can
I totally agree with you. Upvotes are great motivating tools but so are comments. I believe most minnowa find it difficult to upvote many articles as their voting powers diminish easily. Some actually dont upvote at all. That attitude is what must stop

Great Post! I think that you should be selective with your upvote, but don't be stingy. If you see something you like, you should acknowledge it. It will reinforce the behavior that you desire as well as motivate others to follow.

I agree with what you are saying here and so far the steemit community has proven to be amazing. But when the incentives for a specific type of behavior are there, the majority of the users will not be idealists and their behaviours be driven by the particular incentives.
Still, it makes a lot of sense to communicate that sentiment to mitigate the negative effects of the voting power change of HF19.

Thank you for raising the point! It's an important discussion even if I might be a bit pessimistic about it. Still, I agree we would be much better off having this conversations and keeping these things in mind.
