Looks like the very peak of Pispalanharju close to the Lauri Viita museum. It could be Ansiokallio in Tahmela in the southeast part of the ridge, too. That's a damn fine photo that ties into the text very well as the sun represents hope in the midst of the coldness and darkness of your then financial winter.
I am not sure about the name but it is a couple 100 metres down the hill from Näkötorni. We had some Munkki too of course ;)
It was a rally strange sunset, golden and the water below is frozen over but, had very little snow on it. Fitting for the moment definitely.
Ok. So you walked down from Näkötorni. Towards the south? There are places like that near the road where you can see Pyhäjärvi. You were not far from Ansiokallio. But it's on the other side of the road and to the west. On the way there, you will pass a dozen or so houses.
Frozen over lakes with no snow on the are the best. Particularly if there is a little water over the ice, they act as giant mirrors like still water. It is an unusual sight in winter time. With the low sun and possibly ice and snow reflecting the sunlight such conditions definitely present some great photo ops.
