Reject Rejection: Thought For The Day #31 💭✍
We keep going back, stronger, not weaker, because we will not allow rejection to beat us down. It will only strengthen our resolve. To be successful there is no other way (Earl G. Graves)
Rejection is a natural part of life. You get rejected when you aren't picked for the team, don't get the part in the play, don't get chosen for your first choice university etc. To get over rejection, you have to realise that rejection is really a myth. It is simply a concept that you hold in your head. If you ask someone out for dinner and they say no, you are still where you were before you asked them. The situation didn't get worse, it stayed the same. It only gets worse if you tell yourself on the inside that something is wrong with you and have a negative internal dialogue.
SWSWSWSW
Whenever you ask anyone for anything, remember the following: SWSWSWSW: 'some will, some won't; so what...someone's waiting'.
'What you want wants you' (Mark Victor Hansen)
Just Say 'Next'
When someone says no, say 'next!' Remember, there are over 7 Billion people on the planet! Someone, somewhere will say yes. Don't get stuck in fear or resentment. Move onto the next person. Someone is waiting to say yes. It's a numbers game.
This is such an interesting thought! I like the SWSWSWSW principle, I think it is easy to remember and will certainly help some people. I was definitely at fault for making things more negative in my head, I completely agree with the statement that the situation is not worse after you get rejected, it stays the same. What has helped me in my life though, was asking myself this question "If I knew what a good life I would have in the future, would I be worrying about it at this moment?" And the answer was always no. It made me stop worrying so much about men and career, and I focused more on doing tasks that were important to me, I could go straight to work and was also worried less about rejection, because I believed things were going to get better some day.
Yes, it is an interesting and exciting perspective to have! Negative mindset is a difficult challenge to overcome and improve although it is achievable! Perspective is really important when it comes to worry and anxiety, fatalism is an interesting concept with this. Thank you so much for these great words, I enjoyed hearing your thoughts.
