I never saw any discussion about doing a soft fork before it happened.
It was without any consensus from from the 20,000 active users- not that I can see, anyways.
I.E It was NOT a community deemed action, it was a 20 person deemed action.
(coindesk mistakenly reports this, I think)
Witnesses are elected by the community, well sort of, in reality it is more like the top 20 are basically selected by 2 people, but that is besides the point. Overall, I was surprised Coindesk got as much right as they did.
lol, yeah. It's not good publicity though.
I find it hard to see how this can anything but bad publicity, tbh.
Don't you remember the famous saying... "there's no such thing as bad publicity."
