I have some thoughts about the steemit platform that I wrote down at the end of my introduction post.
In short:
- Evergreen material is not rewarded.
- Curation of your own feed is not rewarded.

Yeah the payout window is definitely something I see as a long term problem too. When it comes to curation of your own feed, I think maybe the argument against it is that removing content that doesn't do well actually only removes it from the front end and the post lives on in the blockchain. Not sure I fully understand what you're thinking though so let me know if I misunderstood! :D
