Let's have quick look at some promoted articles

Is it in any way profitable?

That's quite hard to say actually
Let's have a look at some promoted posts from today

So what does this say? How do we know it's promoted?
  • We can find out if someone boosted their post in their wallet history, which is out in the open on their account.

Amountpaid.png

  • When you see a payment to Null, that means the post was promoted.

So the author paid 10 SBD to get their post promoted.

Here's another one:

paid02.png
This author paid over 140 SBD to promote their post.
Although lots of upvotes, the rewards are very low.

Even after studying lots of promoted posts, it's hard to find a pattern
  • Promoting more doesn't equal more votes
  • More votes does not mean more profits.
  • So there are lots of factors at play
  • There is no guarantee for a good return of investment

But let's have a look at something else:
Voting Bots!

This author only invested 4 SBD on promoting, but..
It does well because of Voting bots!

A bot might send you a small amount to promote their service

And we can see for example here

whales02.png
That he paid for Smartsteem and Buildawhale services

So, the Bots will return you some money.
  • Because their votes are high value
  • But we can't always be sure how much he paid for it

The next article

Promoting your post #02

We're going to test this ourselves
  • We will promote our next article for a total of 50 SBD
  • And we will share the results with you
