Poloniex STEEM/SBD Deposits/Withdrawals to Resume on July 1st

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

Following up from a previous post on Poloniex disabling STEEM/SBD deposits and withdrawals, I said I would provide an update if things changed.

Poloniex now has a banner above the market graph for STEEM and SBD which reads:

STEEM deposits and withdrawals are currently estimated to resume by 05:00 UTC on July 1st.

So good news for everyone (including me) that are waiting for their transfers to show up :P

Just one more day and we can hopefully expect Poloniex to be back in shape. I was starting to transfer everything to Bitrrex. The closing of the troll box and these weird issues has me suspicious about what they are doing...

As for my "ticket" with their support, well this is the status:

And I have no response from them yet after 2 days.

I hope they give us all a real honest explanation about why these STEEM freeze happened.

Sort:

Don't take this as a chance to start using Poloniex again. Use this as a chance to get yourself completely out of Poloniex!

Use Bittrex or OpenLedger instead!

Yeah, I asked for level 2 limits so I can get stuff out faster lol. :P

I just got my last bit of BTC out of Poloniex yesterady. Sigh of relief.

I had been meaning to buy some zcash for a while. I converted all my Poloniex coins to that and moved them off the exchange, big sigh of relief too :)

I am really hoping Poloniex doesn't crash as it would be such a shock to all crypto in terms of market contagion.

I switched to Bittrex and don't see myself switching back.

The key is to use http://bitsquare.io as your main exchange because it is not owned by anyone or person, and then just have an account on ALL the exchanges, even the smaller ones like Yobit and those typs.

This looks fantastic! Thanks for this. =)

Even if there will occur similar problems on bittrex in the future?
Some people marry many times in their life, and each time they thought they are doing well.

Good news? First it's only a good perspective. I believe only in this news, when I can see my transmitted coins in my wallet or deposit. Thanks for reporting anyway.

As fo me, I'm waiting for the answer from poloniex support for 11 days, and there's no response. 😢
It's not much money that I transferred but it is not professional for such a big company make so many people wait 😳
For now I transferred all my wallets to bittrex.
We'll see what happens tomorrow 😈

Feels like months got a few SBD awaiting deposit so should be some crazy volatility when it comes back on.

LOL, yeah, I guess lots of selling?

Thanks for the update KrNel. I've been using Bittrex myself the last few days. While it will be nice to have another major exchange available again... "once bitten, twice shy." I'll probably be doing pre-transfers of .001 SBD before moving things back and forth, just to make sure everything goes through. I'd hate to have my funds locked up indefinitely with another outage.

Good move. Bittrex might have ETH issues in receiving I saw when I created an address yesterday. They say to send a small amount to test first, then more after. I found that odd.

The issue with ETH is different, it's a network congestion.

Yeah...this has been going on since HF19...either there are some wicked wallet issues to address, or they really are struggling with the growing volume of trades, or both, or both plus...I'll stop here.

But the trades still go on, and other coin markets have more volume than STEEM on polo. Their excuses don't seem valid. Wallet, STEEM blockchain issues, etc. while other exchanges are fine.

Exactly. Anyway, appreciate you keeping us posted. Moi, am too chicken to trade on polo at the moment and am only on Bittrex. But then, my trades are mere ripples - lol.

I tried them both when I started. But I think I will no longer use polonix, so you're good to stay where you are at Bittrex :P

Good to know! Thanks for sharing with us all :D
I was really worried, but this gives me hope.
I hope BTS also gets fixed soon since I hold some and these days I couldn´t get ahold of them. To be honest, as soon as I can I´m gonna withdraw my funds to somewhere else.

Anyone can recommend a safe place to store BTS ? could be cold storage or a trustable exchange.

Thanks a lot!

You can use openledger for the Bitshares exchange, and you download your wallet to your computer ina .bin file. Or use a cold storage, or bittrex might carry BTS as well.

Thanks again! will try using openledger for Bitshares :D

I was wondering if it's okay to use poloniex for converting sbd to steem with only the email verification?

Use Bittrex.com instead. And yes you can do it there, or internally in your wallet if you don't want to bother ;)

Thanks for the tip! :)

What you think? Are we gonna get back SBD what we lost while tranffered toPolo?

For sure 1st of July it's gonna start work, but do we gonna get back our lost coins?

We better! Or else they are in shit!

Or else we are in shit...

Just sayin...;)

Man... don't even think it!!! LOL :P
