Why The Successful Launch of Falcon Heavy Is Also Good For Crypto Currencies
Falcon Heavy
On February 6th, 2018, Space X successfully launched the Falcon Heavy rocket. A space ship able to lift 140,000 pounds to low-orbit. Rougly being made of three Falcon 9s while only costing about halve as much more( $90 million vs $62 million) due to partial reuse-ability. In achieving this remarkable feat Space X, led by Elon Musk, demonstrates how hard work can persevere and advance man kind.
Frontier
Space exploration is similar to crypto currencies in that they are two examples of technologies on the frontier of human understanding. Each facing difficulties of their own and no success without fail. The current bear market that has hit the crypto market is but a minor bump along the road. Crypto currencies are inherent more complex due to their decentralized nature, but also offer far greater potential.
Steem Blockchain
The Steem blockchain directly rewards the users for adding value to the platform, for building the ecosystem. This system, that incentivizes the creation of value, will grow at an accelerating pace as the network(userbase) grows. Slowly overcoming each difficulty that comes up along the way. The size of the rewards directly influences how quick growth is going to be. Depending on how other Blockchains create value(rewards) for their users, this grow can be slower or faster in comparison. The network effect and the decentralized nature of contributions to the Steem Blockchain has more potential than a more centralised creation of value, current state of Ethereum for example. The size of network(users) also directly correlates with the value and growth rate.
Outlook
Looking at all crypto currencies there is a lot of potential and there is still a lot of value(money) inside the crypto market. This value makes for an ideal breeding ground for innovation. I believe multiple crypto currencies will be successful, creating value in their own way for mankind. As Space X is advancing the frontier of space exploration crypto currencies will revolutionize and decentralize the economy. Steem is working on innovating social media. source

NY Times: Falcon Heavy, in a Roar of Thunder, Carries SpaceX’s Ambition Into Orbit
The center core of the Falcon Heavy failed to land and crashed into the water at 300mph. Only a minor setback when one considers the overall challenges the launched faced.
Cryptos will continue to see similar setback, but like SpaceX and current ventures to land and reuse rockets, these things can be overcome and they will rise.
I hope they can recover some footage of the crash! I agree setbacks are part of the game and here to stay, but can be overcome
Most people who have got involved in crypto in the past year are speculators who are interested in the price and little else. Most could not tell you what a specific coin can do or what it’s use case is. Crypto will remain highly volatile until people start investing in good projects because they are good projects instead of investing in coins because they believe it will go up by 50% in the next 24 hours!
Great points! i think youre right! were are the brink of new and great things!
It is going to be an interesting century that is for sure!
The Falcon launch was very exciting and it certainly represents a move forward for humankind, as can a system like steemit. Still a relative newbie to steemit and cryptocurrency but I what I would like to see with steemit is a way to buy it without having to go through other cryptocurrencies. Do you know if that is in the works?
That is certainly an important functionality and I think it will be added per country by different people/groups. I myself am looking to build such a gateway for Steem<->Euro. But initially this will only be available to my own country, The Netherlands, and later on each country that has euros. Due to the banking logistics
Alas ... I am Canadian and we are a little more conservative. But the looksee I have taken at crypto ... I have a lot of confidence with steem because it is attached to steemit, but you have to go through other cryptocurrencies to gain entrance. Because of the lack of functioning entity attached to these other currencies ... I have less confidence in them long term. Hopefully steem will develop a more direct route in soon ... love your country by the way:)
Sure are a lot of hoops to jump through. However if you succeed now you are already ahead of the game.
The Netherlands sure is a small country of rich history and beauty. I am curious about the Canadian nature. Hiking must be amazing. I hope to visit after exploring Europe and Asia. Also, I believe we send you a bunch of tulips every year for taking in our queen or something similar during the 2nd world war.
I believe it was Canadian forces that were the ones to liberate the Netherlands from Germany in WWII ... that is why get the tulips. They get planted at Parliament Hill. We may have also taken in the Queen. Maybe it was for giving her back ... lol. I would have to research to find out. Canada has great hiking yes and some great cities too. I live in Vancouver. It is very beautiful:)
please share when you do!! I
Now that Steem is on Binance, this exchange (through Coinbase/Gdax) is probably the quickest and most efficient way to buy Steem (as far as I know, being located in America). You can transfer money into Coinbase for free but it will take about a week to process. Or you can do a direct wire transfer from your bank, for about 35$ (25$ bank fee and 10$ Coinbase fee) which happens in less than one business day.
You can then free transfer the USD (fiat) into Gdax, and buy either Bitcoin or Etheruem. First check the ETC/USD and BTC/USD rates on Gdax, and the Steem/ETC and Steem/BTC rates on Binance (it will show you the respective rate for Steem in USD too).
After determining which of the two has the best rate overall into Steem, buy that coin on Gdax (using the fiat transferred as described in the first paragraph) and transfer onto Binance. BE SURE to select the right coin Deposit Address on Binanace, especially with Ethereum because those transactions cannot be undone. Bitcoin maybe more forgiving. I’ve made this mistake trying to send BTC to a BNB address but was able to recover it.
Once you’re transition is complete (Etheruem should generally be quicker than Bitcoin) you can use the coins you transferred in to Binance to buy Steem.
This is the best part. Once you’ve bought your Steem, go to withdraw funds. Here you simply type in your steemit account login name, that’s your Steemit wallet! No need to add a memo. Use your authenticator password if you have one, and you’ll then be sent an email with a link to confirm. The Steem should be in your Steemit account within mins if not less!
Being Canadian ... coinbase isn't much use. But thank you for the tips:)

I quickly found these two links. They note Coinbase as a viable option for acquiring BTC & ETH. Hope this helps.
The banks here are very reluctant to aid in bitcoin purchases. It is becoming quite the endeavour on my end,
I fully trust and believe that the idea of decentralization is the best thing that can happen . Cryto-currency and the blockchain technology is one of man's smartest invention .All credit and thanks to Satoshi Nagamoto. Also, steem is one of those crypto which is likely to be the most used due to it's nature of quick easy transfers and 0 transaction fee.
Steemit is likely to outgrow other popular social medias such as facebook and twitter easily. Unless they fully embrace the whole idea of decentralization and start a rewarding system for their users to be rewarded, they are bound to fall.
Same applies to video platforms such as you-tube and messaging apps like whats-app. Dtube and Telegram will probably be their biggest competitors respectively . All the same i wouldn't be surprised to see or hear these centralized companies planning to use the blockchain technology . Telegram , Samsung and Kodak are already ahead in this.
Long live crypto and all power to the people.
Well said, it is going to be a bumpy ride though ;)
Well I had seen it on YouTube, although center core fails miserably Elon Musk's seems happy about the launch called it a successful flight with small hiccups as they had to dumb two of the engines.
For cryptos China & India to some extent crackdown heavily resulting in fall.but for now it seems stable & now perhaps looking for the moon.
Yeah there will be minor speed bumps ;) A 2 billion dollar ponzi scheme (bitconnect) and a 500 million dollar hack (japan) are but the same.
Anything that's generally uncharted will have it's dips & rises. That's why when it dips I hodl. :)
Holding is good strategie long term, the nice thing about Steem is that you can still earn Steem by adding value to the platform. Later on this earned Steem can appreciate in value
Thanks dear discuss about cyptocurranec news .At present bitcoin condition 8s very low..
