More and more tourists are shopping in Ciudad del Este

Ciudad del Este - Paraguay has the reputation of being a super commercial city where you can get everything you need at the best price.
Back in the 90s in Ciudad del Este, you could hardly walk around the shopping centre during the day. The shops started their activities at 3:00 am, attracting a huge number of people who came to buy from many countries. At that time in Argentina, $1 dollar was equivalent to $1 Argentine peso. You can imagine what that meant during that period.

Paraguay, specifically Ciudad del Este, was the concentration of many people who came to buy from Argentina, and we should also remember that this city borders Argentina, simply divided by a river.
Later the economy suffered different fluctuations, not only in this region, it is something global, after 2008 things began to change, sales were no longer the same, some businesses closed, others were transformed, some opened later, there was not the same amount of buyers as in previous decades.

Since then, Ciudad del Este's trade has undergone many changes, people have changed many consumer habits, merchants have updated themselves and many things have happened. Part of this has allowed the local economy to diversify, opening up other opportunities for those who no longer operated as the classic merchants of the 2000s.
